Help me think of a Bday gift please!
My girlfriend is turning 34 next week and I want to get her a gift, maybe somewhere around $25. I don't want to get her anything for her home because she lives in a freakin mansion and I'm afraid that anything that I could afford to buy her would be out of place. She has tons of wine so I don't want to get that for her either.
She has two kids, maybe something like a shuttfly giftcard to print pics etc? I don't want to just get a starbucks giftcard etc because it's not thoughtful enough, KWIM?. Ahhh, what do get the girl who has everything?!
Re: Help me think of a Bday gift please!
I think the Shutterfly idea is nice if she prints a lot of photos (I don't tend to, but I know a lot of people do).
Other ideas... Does she read? You could pick up a good book for $25, if you know what she likes. Or I've made 'chick flick' baskets for girlfriends, which are usually popular: a DVD or two that they'd like, plus some packages of microwave popcorn and maybe some chocolate, all packaged in a bowl (like this, this or this) to eat the popcorn from - the final price depends on the bowl and how much stuff you put in it.
I bought a Quik Pod to use on our last trip. Basically it's an attachment for your camera so that you can take a picture of yourself. It was so great and we got a lot of comments from passersby. It allowed my whole family to be in the pictures rather than having someone missing or having to ask strangers to take pictures of us all the time. It was such a big hit...I'm planning on giving them as Christmas gifts this year!

Loooove getting flowers on my birthday. You can't go wrong with that! Or, how about browsing through Etsy for some unique ideas? Personalized cute stationary? I'm pretty excited about a customized address stamp that I came across tonight...I'm a paper dork though.
Since I can't figure out how to hyperlink yet: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://ny-image1.etsy.com/il_fullxfull.114737389.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.etsy.com/listing/38151460/custom-address-stamp-round-with-bird&usg=__YQF-TSKFl8nTO-yBLod3IYhd6WI=&h=1000&w=1000&sz=117&hl=en&start=14&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=9kxUsFgPrVxWrM:&tbnh=149&tbnw=149&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcustomized%2Baddress%2Bstamp%2Betsy%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1T4ADFA_enUS359US359%26tbs%3Disch:1

On the flowers thing, you can get her flowers that come in a glass pitcher for lemonade... I thought that was cool. So after the flower are gone, they still have a gift!
I would say, however, that I personally am not a fan of getting flowers. They just mean a mess to clean up! And a crappy vase to either recycle or store somewhere.

This is me too...I also don't like getting potted plants because I have a black thumb and get depressed at how fast they die under my care lol!
me three! i currently have 3 almost-dead potted plants
one was from our house cleaner, so i feel bad b/c he has to see it every other week - i think he keeps it alive better than i do.
