DH got the job! Yay!
Looks like we'll be New Yorkers in no time! DH and I are coming out for 5 days in a couple of weeks to house/apartment hunt. Then he'll be moving out there September 6th and I'll head out with DD September 18th! Yay!
Looking forward to getting to know everyone here and hopefully finding some real life friends
Re: Looks like we're moving!

oh, and....
park slope is AMAZING! we lived there for 6 years and loved it. it's an extremely friendly and safe neighborhood, with everything you can possibly imagine within walking distance. i sold my car after living there for a year, and haven't looked back since...we do zipcar when we are going out of town or do a costco run.
it's pretty hard to not like 'the slope.' hope your experience is a positive one!

Congrats! I hope you love it here. Hopefully we'll see you around the neighborhood soon!
I have some broker reccomendations if you need. We just moved.
Also try to avoid living on avenues, unless you are really high up or sure that the windows are really sound proof. They can be loud! And avoid fire stations! We love the slope, but our first apartment was a nightmare. avoid any 24 hour establishment within half a block if possible. I'm way choosy now, after one too many outside noise waking the baby.
Thanks for the tips, those will come in handy!
And yes, if you have some recommendations, I'd love them!
