What is everyone up to?

My life is so insane right now, I don't know what to do with myself.  Right now I have a few minutes to myself, and this is how I'm choosing to relax.  My to do list is a mile long, but I just needed a moment to breathe before tackling that now that Caleb is down for nap.

So, the movers are coming a week from today to pick up all of our stuff, and somehow I feel like our stuff is growing!  Last week we were in PA to find an apartment, and after a scary morning search we ended up finding something that will work nicely for us and was in our price range.  Still, it is an apartment and I'll be looking forward to buying a house in about a year.  Fingers crossed we'll have good luck selling our townhouse here in AZ quickly (even though we'll get about what we paid for it 10 years ago...thank you crappy Arizona economy)!

DH is driving one of our cars to PA himself and will leave next Tuesday.  Caleb and I will stay with my ILs (oh joy!) until the following Saturday when we fly to Baltimore with a layover in San Antonio followed by a 1.5 hour drive to my parent's place in PA.  Fortunately my dad will come pick us up, but the all day traveling will take its toll on us and test my patience I'm sure.  We'll stay with my family for a few days then head out to Pitt once our stuff arrives from the movers.  I might just go nuts!

Today I need to call cable and internet companies in both PA and AZ to set that stuff up to start/end appropriately, contact our rental place to make sure that things are going through with the lease process since we're so far away, list some stuff on CL that won't fit in our new (smaller) apartment, contact insurance about our move, finalize stuff with the RE agent, blah, blah, blah.  It is never ending!  I'm also insane and have decided to take on all sorts of extra stuff.  Today I'm cooking dinner for a friend who has a 22 month old daughter and just had twins 2 weeks ago (and I think I'm busy)!  And I stupidly started taking orders for dresses and shirts through my sewing side business.  Maybe I'm just in denial or trying to avoid thinking about the obvious move that is going to be here in a blink of an eye.

Ahhh...I feel better now getting all that written down for myself!

So what's new with you?

Re: What is everyone up to?

  • Well I only moved a mile away and I know how stressful that was, can't imagine moving cross country.  I hope it all goes smoothly.  We should have a GTG after you get settled in!

Not much new here.  We are 95% unpacked, just haven't hung anything on the walls.  We're taking Olivia on her first vacation in a few weeks to Busch Gardens and Williamsburg.  I am looking forward to it since we didn't have a vacation last year.  We have gotten invited to so many things in the next 2 months it's ridiculous!  Birthday parties, home parties, picnics etc.......

That's about it.  I am loving the new house, we have so much more space!

  • Wow, it sounds like you have a lot going on!  I wish you all the best with it all ... house selling, travel alone with Caleb, the whole process of moving!  You'll get through it and wonder how you did it all.

Brandy, it must be a relief to be moved in and unpacked!  I hope you have a nice vacation!

We are still in limbo with our house process.  We have had 4 offers and are dealing with our 3rd buyer.  The first backed out, the 2nd still had her house to sell and couldn't match the 3rd who doesn't have a house to sell.  Our buyer had his inspection on Sat and appraisal today.  We're crossing our fingers that everything went well.

We want to have our inspection on the house that we have a contract on but the seller will be on vacation for the next 2 weeks and wants to be there for the inspection.  Has anyone dealt with this?  I find it odd that she wants to be there but I don't have much experience with this.  So, we have to wait 2 weeks.  Hopefully that will go smoothly b/c I cannot even imagine starting our search all over again.  I'm ready to get things moving and am starting to have anxiety over having to do so much before this baby arrives.

I have my big u/s tomorrow and am nervous about that.  Praying for a healthy baby and no cleft lip.  Of course I'm anxious to find out if it's a boy or girl too.  I can't make decisions on a crib, mattress, double stroller, etc because I have no idea what to buy and would like to find the best deals.  I'm stressing myself out over it.  I know I have time but I can't help feeling like a time-bomb.

We're still sorting through Ethan's allergy test results and fractured foot.  I'm amazed by him every day.

Super excited for the John Mayer concert on Sunday!!!!!

    Hope everyone is doing well!

  • My goodness, you girls are super super busy!!!  I hope everything runs smoothly with all of the house selling and moving for you ladies.  I couldn't imagine doing all of that with a LO...good luck!!!

Nothing real big going on for us...just trying to keep our heads above water with the bills, expenses, etc.  We drastically cut back on spending and I really hope to get lia sophia moving even more...I am busy with it but I'm so close to moving up to management so I'm looking forward to that bigger paycheck.

My inlaws were staying here for 10 days over Keaton's birthday...I'm so glad to have things back to normal.  It's nice to have them here but it gets to be TOO much after awhile.

Keaton is growing like a weed and changing everyday.  I can't believe he just turned ONE.  That saying that they grow up so fast is so true!!!  I'm loving every minute of being a mom...best job ever!
