We were so busy and had so much fun. HH did great, going to all the stuff he didn't want to do. My hometown (my parents still live there - population 2000) has an annual celebration called Chief Wapello Days. My high school class also celebrated 20 years with a reunion this weekend in conjunction with CWD.
We went to the parade (HH didn't want to go) and then headed out to the lake to have a picnic with everyone. Then we went to the street dance and had adult time with our classmates.
Side note: I ran into my very first BF at the street dance! You know, the one I lost my virginity to...hehehe! He's a good guy - I've always had nothing but good memories of him (we were 14 & 16 when we started dating). He was there with his wife and talking to me about his little boy who he's all worried about yadda, yadda, yadda. I told him it's your 5-year old girl you need to worry about. Cuz in 10 years when she comes home with that boy that wants to take her on a date, he needs to remember that that boy is HIM! He sobered up really quick when that thought clicked!
Anyhow, it was a late night, lots of beer, and great conversation with an OK band. Then Sunday morning we got up and went to church with my parents (me, HH, my sister, her HH, and my twin niece & nephew.) And then we headed to the lake to swim, boat, and ski. Sister & family went home from the lake and me & HH went back to town with my dad. I groomed our schnauzer when we got back, had dinner with the P's, and then we played cards with them before we finally left to come home around 8:45. At 10:00 we finally walked in the door.
I have to go to work today just to get some rest! But a busy week is ahead cuz we leave for our HM on Friday! So much to do every night after work. Can't wait!!!!
Re: Such a great weekend!
what a fun weekend! I'm glad you had a good time!
And eeeeks!!! Your honeymoon!!!! Where are you guys going again?
It really sounds like you had a fantastic weekend! Mine was really dull, since HH has been away for work there was nothing to distinguish the weekend from the rest of the week. I spent Saturday and Sunday taping, priming, and painting in our kitchen. It looks awesome, I should post some pictures later today
We are going to upstate New York for the baseball Hall of Fame weekend (induction of HH's all-time fav Cubs player - Andre Dawson) and then on to Lake George in the Adirondacks for a few days of relaxation. A little fun in the sun, some wine touring, etc.
Bummer that HH is gone.
But you can pass the time by taking pics of your new kitchen and posting them for us
So Young Lady this year would be my 20 year reunion to. Although I didn't go to mine. It was in June and back east. Ours moves to a different location each time because our high school was in Germany!!! It was near DC this year but just to soon after the wedding!!!
Weekend was good but gone to fast!!!!
I thought we were around the same age Pamila. I'm a late bloomer on the whole marriage thing. Now that I'm finally married and ready to start a family, some of my classmates have children graduating and going to college or having children of their own. The weekend was a blast and we're looking forward to our 25-year reunion now.
