When you wash your face at night...

Do you moisturize too?  I always use moisturizer in the morning but not usually at night.  Should I be?  And should I use something different than I use in the morning?

Re: When you wash your face at night...

  • I actually don't moisturize at all in the summer.  I probably should but my skin is on the oilier side and in the summer it doesn't get dry.  When I do moisturize in the winter I only do it in the morning.  I think it's more to do with what your face needs IMO.  Some people have oily skin and some have really dry skin so everyone's needs are different.

  • I do not moisturize at night, and I only sometimes remember to do it during the day. Like Laurabeth, my skin doesn't seem to need it as much in the summer as it does in the winter. I usually go with the "if it feels dry, moisturize" rule!

  • I try to remember to moisturize at night, and I have a neutrogena nighttime moisturizer, I think....I think the only difference I see is that is a bit heavier on my face than  my daytime moisturizer.
  • I have an oily T-zone, too, and was told that just bc it's oily doesn't mean it doesn't need moisturizer. It's actually unrelated since the oil doesn't moisturize your skin. I use Clinique's Dramatically Different oil free gel moisturizer and love it for the morning but at night I use Oil of Olay night cream (comes in a small tub).
  • It's not Friday but I will confess that I don't wash my face at night. I don't wear foundation and have never had really problematic skin. I just get comfortable and don't want to get up.

I actually didn't normally wash my face at night but I just started because my hormones are all screwy going off my BC and now I'm breaking out like a 16 year old.  *sigh*

I'm not good about it either.  But I started working out/going for walks at night and I just feel grimy afterward so I'm trying to pick up the habit.

  • I always wash at night and use a dermatologist prescribed cream at night. I only moisturize in the morning. I am oily too, especially in the summer, but i just switch it up to Oil of Olay light moisturizer for sensitive skin with spf 15. If i moisturized at night, i would negate the medicine from my doctor. Otherwise, i probably would. I like how it feels too! :-p
  • I do, most of the time.  I use the same thing as I do in the morning - Clean and Clear oil free dual-action moisturizer.  This is the only consistent item in my skin routine.  I've tried everything, expensive, cheap, in-between, and I love this product.  I've been using it for years, and it's nice for my crazy-sensitive skin as well.
