So MH and I are just starting to slowly look around at some houses in
the area. He's bought a house before, a few years ago in a different
state and went through some program where he got the house for super
cheap and plus it had been foreclosed.
We live in Central Texas
and have been looking for the same type of program, but can't seem to
find one except for the USDA Loans. Has anyone gone through this program
before? What are the Pros/Cons and any other advice for starting to by
our first house together?
Re: Just starting to look...
Welcome to the board. You might want to ask a realtor or mortgage person about the USDA loan. We just bought a house using that program but at the time (late May) we were making a plan B because it looked like they were going to run out of money. They may have found more funding but at the time they weren't sure if that was going to happen or not.
You definately want to work with a realtor. A lot of people don't understand how much they help you. I have a good one or there are a couple of Nesties who I'm sure would be happy to help. They're both very friendly.
I have a realtor friend that sent me an email yesterday about some really great options for first time home buyers. I can send you the email if you'd like. My email address is tlunoff at hotmail dot com
