Hi Ladies! (I'm new)

Hi Ladies! I thought I would stop by and introduce myself. I'm Whitney. My husband moved to Austin a few months ago to accept his dream job. I stayed behind to tie up a few loose ends, but now my move date is just around the corner (Aug 10th).

The only problem is that we don't know very many people in the area. So I wondering what everyone does for fun? Also, do you guys have any type of "nestie" get togethers?

Re: Hi Ladies! (I'm new)

  • Welcome to the area (in a few weeks Wink )!

We do have different GTGs some north, some south and some central - it all depends on where you are and how far you are willing to drive. I'm not really one to tell you about the awesome things there are to do here because I don't get out much :( but I know there are a ton of things out there!

  • Welcome!  Where are you moving from?

There are tons of fun things to do around Austin, I guess it depends on what kind of stuff you like to do.  There are Nestie gtgs.  They're mostly split up by areas of town because it can take forever to get around sometimes.  What area will you be moving to?

  • I'm moving to Austin from a very small town in Kansas. So this is definitely going to be an adventure! :)

We rented a small apartment in Austin near Round Rock. We are planning to start looking for a more permanent residence within a few months.

My husband is a sports writer for Fox Sports/Scout.com and I'm a Premier Designs Jewelry Consultant, so as you can imagine we are very people oriented. We typically like activities that allow us the opportunity to meet new people.

Since we are house hunting, do you recommend any neighborhoods?

  • Hello and welcome!

  • Welcome to Austin. DH and I bought a house in the north Austin neighborhood Wells Branch last year and we love it. It's probably not to far from your apartment. It has nice running trails, two neighborhood pools, a rec center, tennis and basketball courts, softball and soccer fields and easy access to Mopac, 35, and 45.
  • Hi! Welcome to Austin.
  • Welcome!! I live far south (like in a different city) but Austin is awesome!!!
  • Welcome!
