Re: I need a gaga review
Most of you have seen our pics up on FB. If not, they are over there.
I thought the concert was freaking amazing.
The part that struck out the most to me:
After seeing the Westboro Baptist Church protesting with their signs that said, "God hates Fags" and things of the like, it was so great to hear Gaga "preach" about love and acceptance and she even said something like "Jesus loves everybody." - It may have had a few dirty references mixed in there and a few profanity but the message is the same.
I think I was just really bothered by seeing the protesters show such hate so it was extra nice to see her go the opposite way.
Other than that, she flipping rocked the sh!t out of the Ford Center. Amazing.
Oh those people make me so mad!!
But I'm glad they didn't ruin your fun. The outfits looked great!
It was really fun. Overall, I spent most of the night bummed because I missed the preshow dinner with my friends and the first part of the concert because I was AT WORK. That pretty much ruined it for me, actually.
I am trying to convince DH to take me to the concert in Dallas on Friday so I can go and actually enjoy myself but he does not seem convinced....
I did learn two new uses for the f bomb and I am quite excited to try them out.
One of them is using the f bomb and then "damn" after it - for instance "You just scared the fvck damn out of me." That's hilarious.
The second is using the word horse in front of the f bomb such as - "Its as hot as horse fvck in here." (her exact words)
I was waiting for stripesandspots to drop the "hot as horse f bomb". Definitely my favorite quote of the night.
I thought the Gaga concert was amazing. To me, it's very similar to a Madonna concert, but whereas Madonna can get very preachy/controversial, I found Gaga to be more about love and acceptance. I have a feeling that seeing a Gaga concert in a larger market, such as NYC, would have brought out far more characters than what we saw last night, although we did see a few good costumes. I'm really happy she made a stop in OKC... it's really not that often we get artists of her caliber around here.
AMAZING! We ate dinner/had drinks at Nonna's (which was great, by the way) and then walked over to the concert. The protesters were ridiculous-- telling people to STFU so they could preach about God? Are you kidding me?
Gaga was incredible. I love her 100x more now that I've seen her live. And I so want another tattoo, and to use the creative f bomb phrases as well. Here's a picture of me, pinksprkl, and tavia_martin before the concert:
I thought the show was freaking awesome. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but it was fantastic. My best friend and I went and rocked out all night. I bought her CD this morning on Amazon - love her now.
Bestie and I are seriously considering going to Dallas to see her show on Friday, too. I don't think H would appreciate that, but we're debating right now. :P I didn't see the protesters, but it was nice to hear Lady Gaga saying to love and accept everyone - especially yourself. And, she sounded fantastic live. Some artists I've seen don't sound all that great, but she sounded awesome.
I found it just a little ironic that there was a Baptist convention going on at the Cox Convention Center during the same time of the concert. I saw a family walk out of the center when I did, and a group of cross dressers walked out in front of them (drunk), screaming Lady Gaga's (not so clean) lyrics. They looked mortified.
I don't know why but this cracks me up! I would have loved to see the looks on their faces.
She speaks out quite a bit concerning gay rights and acceptance. Her fan base is comprised of gays due to her support of their rights, she has even stated that they are her core fan base.
You can come with me in March '11. My best friend up and bought tickets to her show in Dallas on 03/14/11 today - so I guess we're seeing her again next year. :P
Oh, okay. Well, that makes her even cooler, then. I thought her music was catchy, and that just makes me like her even more.
OMG! I am SO getting tix to that...
We paid a decent amount of money, but our seats are ridiculously close (especially compared to where we sat for her show on Tuesday). My best friend M and I had already (half-jokingly, half-seriously) talked about going to another concert in 2011...just didn't think it'd be this soon. :P
By then, her new album will have dropped (I hope), so maybe she'll incorporate more of those songs into the show. Although, I wouldn't care if I saw the same show twice - it was awesome.
