Hump Day Poll

Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago?

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way?

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically?

What are your plans for the weekend?

What's for dinner?

Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago? Yes, I'm married, I have a job, a house, and a kid. Plus I really happy with my life.

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way? I think it depends on the situtation. I like things to be done right the first time so I'm not afraid to ask for help if I think I am not fully understanding on how to fix a problem.

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically? I have told DH after we have kids and I'm getting my boobs picked back up where they are supposed to be.

What are your plans for the weekend? So far all I have planned is taking M to storytime at the library on Sat and then grocery shopping.

What's for dinner? Don't know......probably will pick up something on the way home.

  • Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago? Yes and no. I definitely thought I'd have a couple kids by now, but other than that, I think I'm where i'm at.

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way? A good portion of both is nice.

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically? I might maybe consider it someday.

What are your plans for the weekend? I'm spending Thursday - Sunday at Tenkiller with my family. I'm pretty excited.

    What's for dinner? Burgers, maybe?

Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago?

Not at all.  5 Years ago, I was pretty certain I'd be in Seattle working and married.  I did both of those things, but neither lasted the 5 years I guess.  I still work for the same company, but now in OKC.

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way?

I think I'd rather say that I like to figure things out on my own, but that's probably not true.  When I have a problem at work that I know someone else knows the answer to without work, I ask them instead of figuring it out.  2 people for 5 minutes is cheaper for our customers than 1 for a half hour.

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically?

I definitely would (and probably will someday).  A mommy makeover.

What are your plans for the weekend?

Frontier City with my sisters this weekend.

    What's for dinner?

Maybe leftover potroast, but if not, grilled chicken, pesto, mozarrella, and sundried tomato paninnis.  Mmmm.

  • Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago? Not really, I do not have kids yet, I do not work where I thought I would be and I live in my hometown which is the town I never planned to settle down in. However I am married and quite content with my life right now.

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way? Depends on the situation.

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically? I have not had any but after I have a baby I plan to have my boobs done so like Amy they are back where they are suppose to be. Stick out tongue

What are your plans for the weekend? Don't have any really. I am trying to get C to go to a movie since I have free movie tickets, I know I will tidy up my house and get laundry done.

What's for dinner? No clue-like always.

  • Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago? Five years ago we were having a pretty rocky time with the ol' marriage.  I kind of thought I'd be getting a divorce and moving on with my life--having a career and whatnot.  But we worked it out, and I'm happy that it's where it's at.  A healthy marriage and a healthy kid.

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way? I like team work.  But I also do not mind a challenge.

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically? Yes, I would like to have my boobs done eventually.  And if I ever get saggy eyelids, then I'd do those too!

What are your plans for the weekend? Lake with my parents since Tyler will still be gone

What's for dinner? Meatloaf and scalloped potatoes

  • Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago? Not exactly!  I knew I would be married and planning a family, but I didnt think I would be unemployeed.  I never thought I would be living in this small town so far away from friends and family.  But I love my husband and I'm happy to be with him, no matter where we are.

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way? I like to figure things out on my own!!

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically?  I haven't yet, but wuld most deffinitely...... a little lipo maybe!!

What are your plans for the weekend? Going to my sister-in-law's wedding

What's for dinner? Moroccan pork over couscous.

  • Whoops.

  • Hump Day Poll

    -->

Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago? Sure, why not. I don't usually think all that far ahead.

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way? I don't like asking for help but will if totally necessary.

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically? Meh. Probably not. I'm not a fan of totally unnecessary surgery. Now, if I had a kid and my breasts were hugely lopsided after, then I would have that fixed. Things that are debilitating or subtract from quality of life are one thing...not being able to love myself because I'm not "perfect" is another.

What are your plans for the weekend? Not much. No studying, no homework, no papers. Probably a lot of hanging out. I am seeing my mom for lunch on Sunday with H, my sis and her new boyfriend.

What's for dinner? Not sure yet.

  • Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago? Not really.  Five years ago I was still in college and had envisioned myself working in a science/animal related field with an amazing job I loved going to everyday.  Obviously, after my post yesterday, that is not the case.

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way? I like to figure things out on my own until i get pissed and throw something.

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically? I got my boobs done about a month ago Big Smile

What are your plans for the weekend? Not sure, I want to go to my grandparent's at Texoma, but aparently my crack head cousin is staying with them for a bit, so I think I'll pass.

What's for dinner? Family dinner night, I think my Papaw is making hamburger patties and brown gravy

  • Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago? Nope. I sure didn't think I would be living in OKC and teaching in a rural school district. I did think I would be married or engaged by now. I thought I would be in DFW or Austin working in PR still.

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way? Figure things out on my own.

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically? Not in the next couple of decades.

What are your plans for the weekend? DH has to study quite a bit, so I'm not sure. We'll probably try a new Midtown restaurant for dinner...there's a lot we haven't tried yet. And I may have lunch with a friend. Sunday we'll be at the in-law's pool all day.

    What's for dinner? That's a good question!

  • Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago? Yes, I'm actually exactly where I wanted to be, and then some. Big Smile

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way? Have help.

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically? Probably not.  There isn't anything about myself that I dislike enough to have unnecessary surgery to "fix."  If I were disfigured or something like that, I would have plastic surgery, though (or after a mastectomy, etc.)

What are your plans for the weekend? We are hanging out with DH's family on Saturday and Sunday we have the second get-together for the secular parenting group I've started, which I am REALLY excited about.

What's for dinner? Fabulous zucchini grinders (http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/fabulous-zucchini-grinders/Detail.aspx)

  • imagempolston:

Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago? Yes. I have the kind of job I thought I'd have (though I wish it were closer to home) and a nicer house than I thought I would due to OK's pretty low cost of living, so it's a fair deal.

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way? Get help!

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically? Hmm---I might consider a tummy tuck or something if I had a baby

What are your plans for the weekend? Barbeque, beer, and board games with friends

What's for dinner? Chicken, broccoli, brown rice, and wild sand plums

  • Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago? Yeah kinda. I figured I would be married by now. I knew I wanted kids, but never really had a "timeline" of when. I'm working where I thought I wanted to work, but that's not the case anymore. So yes, pretty much.

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way? I like to do things on my own until I get frustrated and want help. Depending on the situation of course.

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically? I would like to say no, but I don't know what I'm going to look like after having a couple kids. Boobs would be the only thing though. Everything else can be taken care of with the good ole fashion eating healthy and exercise.

What are your plans for the weekend? I honestly have no clue.

What's for dinner? tuna sandwich...it's all that sounds good right now. and a big bowl of fruit.

Hope that works out for you, but this isn't always true.

  • Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago? For the most part, although I always thought I would have a kid or at least be prego by this time! (I used to always say I wanted to have my first kid by 25.. guess that didn't happen ha)

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way? I generally will take a little help :)

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically? I doubt it..

What are your plans for the weekend? I am not even sure yet!

What's for dinner? I think I am going to make tacos.

  • Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago?   5 years ago I had a full time office job and was working on my teaching certifications.  I knew I'd be leaving office life (sooo boring), so I figured I'd be teaching by now.  I had no idea I'd be living where I am (Norman was never on my "must live there" list haha), and I hoped I'd be married by now but DH and I were just friends and didn't know each other very well yet 5 years ago.  I figured I would have a kid by the time I was 28, but I don't.  Oh well.Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way?  If it's someone who knows what they're talking about or who has experienced it before, then I'm open to getting help :)If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically?  Maybe someday....I don't really want to, but I know that no amount of diet/exercise is going to get rid of my hideous arms and I'm a little scared to think of how my skin will be once I lose all the weight I need to lose and have a couple kids.  Wow, that painted a lovely picture.  What are your plans for the weekend?  Nothing!  Hoping DH doesn't have to work Saturday so we can go out to eat/watch a movie or something. What's for dinner?  Meatloaf, green beans, mashed potatoes

Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago? Nope.

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way? Figure things out on my own, but a little 'training' here and there would be helpful.

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically? My nose.

What are your plans for the weekend? Go to see Inception, out to eat, and go to the new Hard Rock Casino in Tulsa.

    What's for dinner? Pork chops

  • Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago? 5 years ago I was about to be a junior in high school. At that time, I knew I'd be in college. I had no idea where I would be working, but I knew that I would have a job. I didn't think I'd be married till after college. So, for the most part, I'm where I thought I would be.

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way? I'd rather have help along the way. I hate making big decisions. I like to have other's opinions.

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically? No

What are your plans for the weekend? We are leaving for Colorado on Friday! I am so excited to get away! Summer school will be over tomorrow. It's the perfect get a way to relax and have fun before the fall semester starts.

What's for dinner? Good question. I have no idea. Probably sandwiches or maybe some sort of breakfast food like french toast.

  • Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago? Well, almost. I figured I would be in my last year of PhD not beginning.Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way? Figure things out, I am a complex person. If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically? I have, yes. Nothing serious such as liposuction or eye lifts (*shudder*)What are your plans for the weekend? Nothing really, this last weekend was so busy that I doubt we do anything. What's for dinner? Dh is marinating chicken breasts, I guess that.
    Vacation
  • Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago? No way. I thought I'd be in grad school, possibly engaged and getting ready to take on the PR world. I never thought I'd be here...but I'm not complaining. At all.

Would you rather figure things out on your own or have help along the way? Help please. A little help always takes the stress off of me.

If you haven't already...would you have plastic surgery to change something you don't like about yourself physically? I like the way I am, so I'm good for now. Maybe after we're done having kids, I'll get a breast lift or something...but nothing ridiculously major.

What are your plans for the weekend? I'm going home to pick up my iPhone 4 and hang out with my mom. My parents' wedding anniversary was yesterday, but my dad's currently in Afghanistan...so my sister and I are taking her out to celebrate.

What's for dinner? Um, NO idea. I really want a hamburger...
