Wrong allergy med for me

I just slept with my head on my desk for an hour.

Re: Wrong allergy med for me

  • What are you taking? I've been through most of the ones out there. Zyrtec finally worked for me but I know it makes a lot of other people sleepy.
  • Jesus, Sam, what did you take!?

Claritin puts me to sleep, but I did well with Zyrtec and Allegra.

Husbands should be like Kleenex: Soft, strong, and disposable.
  • It was only benadryl liquidcaps.   i'll pick up some Allegra on the way home.   Do they make you jumpy, Moo?

  • No wonder. Benadryl is the sleep aid in Tylenol PM. zzzzzzzzzzzz

  • well...the things you learn.   this is going to make parenting tricky.   time to break out that new Sesame Street DVD i've had stashed for emergencies

  • Oh yeah, benadryl's a sleeping pill. I'd be under my desk in 20 minutes if I took one.

I had no side effects with Allegra. it was awesome.

  • I'm supposed to pick Lila up in an hour in the car...seriously starting to wonder if that's a good idea.

  • Yup, I take benedryl when I can't sleep.

I liked Allegra and had no side effects. It just didn't work as well as the Zyrtec for me. This was also when they were all still perscription, I dunno if the formulas have changed or anything now that they are OTC.

  • Allegra + Flonase worked wonders for me. I was like one of those mythical people with no allergies. Like a unicorn.

So is Lila.   Actually, so am i.   Adam Sandler is the best.

This one has Bill Cosby in it so i have high expections.   this buzz should enhance my enjoyment

  • Sam, Benedryl normally gets me for a few hours and I'm much bigger then you so my guess is it won't wear off for a while.

I use Zyrtec and Omnaris which I love (plus Advair). Doing all 3 makes me sometimes feel a little bit like I'm 85 but it keeps my allergies and asthma in check so I'll deal with it.

  • Maggie is obsessed with 1,2,3,4. She'll say "One and two? Watch-a the one and two?"

  • I actually can't take OTC allergy meds.  They either do nothing for me or put me to sleep.  I take clarinex.

  • Allergy shots, yo.

It sucks for a few months but I used to be one of those people who took Claritin like every two hours just to breathe.  Since I did the shots two or so years ago, I can count on one hand the number of times I've had to take it.

    Ditto.

I've been doing shots for 5 years and I'm thinking I'll continue forever because one shot a month is LIGHT YEARS better than the horrible allergies I had previously.  I haven't taken ANY drugs for 3 years now!!!

Shots are FOR seasonal allergies.  My serum is made up of ragweed, pollen, grass, trees etc. etc.

eta:  It does kinda suck getting a shot in January for a problem that only bugs you in the spring/fall but it's soooooo worth it.  For me at least.

  • Good work on the eyes.  I can really feel the sadness!

  • I'd be more concerned about your left hand than your allergies.
