Critique: Parent's Album

I've been working on my parent's album for like the last month.  So ready to be done with it!

What do you ladies think?

Re: Critique: Parent's Album

  • looks beautiful!!
  • Beautiful!  I love the cover! It really captures your special day!

I would be careful of pictures close to the middle line, the edges may be lost after the book is bound, so you may want to give yourself some buffer room, or a boarder.

Also, I think some of your pictures are a little small (you may want to eliminate some so that others can be a little bigger, less is more, you know?), but if they are all important to you, then include them!

Your parents are going to love it!

  • I think it looks great, but I do agree with Marick, it seems like a lot of pictures. If they are important to you, then by all means, keep them. But there were a couple of pages where it just looks cluttered. There are a couple of pictures that look very similar to each other, so maybe pick your favorite and go from there? But again, totally up to you!
  • Great job! I'll be doing the same thing (making my own parent albums) once we get out disc, and I'm always looking for layout ideas...did you find picaboo fairly easy to navigate?

I was thinking of using somerset (www.somersetalbums.com), but I'm open to look at other sites...the quality of your pics did look wonderful!

As with pp, I agree that  for the pages with the receptions shots, maybe think about thinning them out...or do what I plan to do: to keep my albums from being too full of pics (and we have a million from our reception!), I plan to make two parent albums for Mom and Dad - one with the getting ready shots, ceremony & formals, and pics of me and DH; And a second that focuses solely on the reception (family and friends, table visits, etc).

Yep I used Picaboo X.   I plan to order the Madison book.  I was going to do Mpix but it was taking forever to upload the pics.

FYI:  I am doing a flush mount album so the pictures that you see near the crease are supposed to print....we'll see how it actually turns out when I get it!

I'll see what I can do about eliminating a few pictures...

     Thanks for the feedback ladies!
