This has probably been the best purchase I've made in a long time. I bought it the other day with my tax rebate that TurboTax missed but the government spotted and refunded to me (thank you Obama!) DH was playing with it that evening and went and bought his own that night.
We use the same account for both so we only have to buy a book once if we both want to read it and it's not "lendable." Right now we're both reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo because it's so popular and we wanted to see what the fuss was. How cute are we, laying in bed at night reading side by side? DH hasn't read for pleasure in years. And it gives us lots more to talk about, not that we were lacking, but still.
I find myself reading through books faster than if I had a physical copy because it's easier to hold with one hand and flip a page. Strange as it might sound, I think it's better for my carpal tunnel.
And to top it off, I just discovered the HUGE amount of free books on bn.com. There are a lot of Harlequins, which is my guilty reading pleasure. I'm so excited!
Re: Nook Rave - long

Sandra- which nook do you have? I have been wanting one really bad for a while now and might splur on getting it for myself (as an early birthday present) I was just looking at them... there is a Nook wi-fi for $149 and a Nook 3G + wi-fi for $199
I got the $149 one. I can't see myself ever needing the 3G so I saved the forty bucks, which covered the schmancy cover I bought for my Nook.
DH thought he would need the 3G "What if I was working at the hospital and they didn't have wireless?" Well, what are the odds you're going to need to download a book right then at that moment and it couldn't wait until later? Pretty slim so he got the $149, too.
