Lots of important meetings this afternoon
Dh and I are in the process of fighting our county to let us subdivide land from his parents and build a house. We've been fighting this for MONTHS and are still sitting in the same spot. FIL and DH have a meeting with one of the board of supervisors on site shortly. I decided I couldn't make that one because we have another big meeting tonight.
DH and I have been volunteer Youth Leaders for our church the past 2 years. This means every Sunday evening gatherings from 5-7 during the school year plus other organizational church meetings throughout the year. We have recommended to the church that they go back to having a paid Youth Minister (as they had for 20+ years until about 5ish years ago). If we start building a house DH and FIL will be doing most of the work (I'll help where I can but I probably won't be doing much). This means we won't have much time on the weekends for extra things due to them working when they can.
I'm anxious about the church meeting because they need to hire someone but because of all the snow we had we're in the red for the fiscal year. My dad is strongly opposed to hiring someone. I know they can find the money some where to hire a part time person if that is God's plan. My biggest fear is that DH and I will be suckered back into serving next year as well.
This has gotten long but AYE! I hope all the meetings go well!

It's so hard when it comes to volunteering for a church. On one hand, you know they can use your help, but on the other hand, it sounds like they're kinda taking advantage of your willing spirit and your generosity with your time!
