TROY ? Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's last name is spelled "Osama" on hundreds of absentee ballots mailed out this week to voters in Rensselaer County.

I agree and what is even more questionable is that this is a very Democratic state. What is going on there? Do I need to break out my tinfoil hat again and my theory of 2012?

I think it was on purpose, but I don't think it's that big a deal. ?It's not like an Obama voter, already committed is going to say, "Wait, his name is THAT close to Osama?! ?Can't do it now!"

That used to be the case, but the Democratic party has been gaining ground-taking over the Legislature and poised to take over the Senate this election. Albany is pretty blue (I even double-checked on an electoral map). I am not sure if you can see it very well, but the area is very blue.
Very true. I do think it can be an easy slip to make while speaking, particularly if you're a newscaster who has been talking about Osama for the past 7 years, but it's not an easy typo to make.
Now, if it had been Ovama, Onama, or even Ogama or Ohama, that would be a different story. But there's no way a key that is typed with the left ring finger would be typed in the place of one that is typed with the left index finger.
This is nutso.
