Speaking of Growing

What is everyone growing this summer?

So far I am just doing tomatoes, basil and cilantro.

Re: Speaking of Growing

  • We're doing tomatoes, lettuce and spinach (and my mom just brought a cucumber plant when she visited this weekend!).

We also have basil, cilantro, parsley and oregano.

We've tried to use the herbs as much as possible, and I love having enough veggies to make a decent salad!

  • Errrrm. Grass? A baby?

    I got nothin'

I can't keep a plant alive, much less an herb. It's a miracle the dog has made it 5 years with me.

Did you plant your cilantro in the ground, or in a pot?  I have mine growing in a large pot, and it is starting to flower all at the top and not really grow back the actual cilantro...is that typical?

basil, cucumbers, garlic chives (may be dead), parsley & dill (on its way to death)...

Anything inside gets destroyed by the kitten... so I have nothing green in there.

The same thing happens with mine.  If you snip off the flowering/seed part at the top it should continue to grow back the actual cilantro.

    Thanks so much!
