If you really knew me MTV

Did anyone watch it last night? Did you know that they filmed at a local high school here? I'm excited to see what changes if any happened.

Re: If you really knew me MTV

  • It should be really good! I actually taught at the school they filmed at the last two years and I participated in the Challenge Days that they are filming. It was a very neat experience and I think the kids got a lot out of it. I didn't watch last night's episode, but I believe it was in California. My old principal told me that MTV hasn't told him an exact air date for them yet, but I will definitley be sure to watch!
  • I've seen previews for it, but I haven't seen the show.  That's cool they filmed here!  Hopefully I'll know which episode it is so I can make sure and watch it.
  • That's so neat! I hope I get to catch it. I heard the show was pretty good and interesting!

How cool to be able to participate in that experience. Did the kids stay transformed or did they become a product of their environment?

  • Eh, a little bit of both. If you know which hs it is, you could probably see why. I think the experience (for me at least) really opened my eyes to just exactly what my kids were dealing with personally. I mean, I had ideas, but...wow, I was floored with some things I experienced. I think that many of the students embraced each other because they shared similar experiences, but never knew it, so it created some bonds that may have never existed before. Others, yes I believe that thy are a product of their environment. It is very hard for some to just get out of different things - home life, peer influences, etc. I had a great time participating and feel very blessed that I was able to do it. The show was taped last fall...

I know which hs it is which is why I am glad not everyone resulted back to the rules of their neighborhood. I can't wait to see it. I may have a new favorite show.
