AW: Bathroom renovation starting today :)

My dad is at our house, as I type this, starting the renovation on our bathroom!!

He's tearing out the tile/walls in the shower and will be putting up all new tile and new fixtures - yay!!!

The new tile will look kinda like this:

Except that the bottom (darker) tiles will be 12" instead of 6" and the top (lighter) tiles will be straight across instead of tilted.

  • so jealous!

We need to do our bathroom so bad...but it'll need to wait.  Gotta finish the kitchen and start thinking about R's new room!

  • Nice! Your tiles will be similar to the ones we just installed in our bathroom. I LOVE them. Oh and get the curved shower rod (if you don't have it already), it's great; you'll love the extra room and I like how the shower liner doesn't blow all over the place.

Lots of renovations going on w/everyone!

Does it take up more room in the bathroom (like outside the tub)?  Our bathroom is sooo teeny as it is, we can't afford to lose any space.  But I'd love the curved shower rod! :)

  • It curves out 8 inches, but is the same length as a standard shower rod. I'm short so I don't really notice, but you're taller than me so it might make a difference. You could always just get one and hold it up/not install, and return if you don't like it.

  • We got a curved shower rod when we re-did our bathroom 2 yrs ago (we also tore out walls, floor, vanity, etc) and it is AWESOME!  It juts out just a bit, but makes lots of elbow room.
  • Be sure to post pictures!!
