Re: do you have a bucket list?
Ooh! I'll play!
So, a while back, a bunch of Austin nesties did a 101 things in 1001 days challenge.. and mine just ended yesterday. Its kind of like a bucket list, only time bound and a bit more frivolous at times.
Check mine out.. the top post is a review I did yesterday of my items. I will be doing one again, and am working on my next list - and trying to figure out how to work things in like planning to have kids without being too.. well, "expecting" of it. I hate to jinx things.
Anyhow - the link is right below in my siggy! Oh, and the original challenge if you want to read about it is at http://www.dayzeroproject.com/
I agree with terp. I would never get them done. I have a couple of things I want to do before I die, well, actually it's more like places I want to visit.
Yours sounds pretty cool, though. Good luck doing it!
I kept trying to motivate myself to do a 30 before 30 list, but I kept getting sidetracked and depressed. Since I only have till Oktober 1st, I don't see it happening. :-)
I have been thinking a lot about what I've done in life so far and what I want to do. I think I might make a Things I'd Like To Do Before I'm 40 list. Some of those things are:
Get SCUBA certified
Skydiving
Ride in a hot air balloon
Spend more time doing volunteer work than working (I almost did that last month!)
Become a mother, one way or another
There's LOTS of travel stuff involved
I love the idea of a list of 30 things to do before age 30. Seems so motivational! I would definitely include:
travel to Ireland and Italy with DH
Take cake decorating classes
Get my Masters
Learn how to cook at 5-10 delicious staple meals (I can't cook so this would be a good challenge)
Run a half marathon....
Hmmm now you've got me thinking!
I have been checking off my 101 things in 1001 days on my blog. While circumstances have changed so that I won't complete some of the items, I like having the list to give me ideas for weekend trips or activities when I'm bored on a Saturday afternoon. I'm pretty happy with the progress I've made, although I don't think I'm even halfway through.
Currently, I'm failing miserably at keeping a plant alive. I actually think it is dead, but I keep telling myself I can bring it back to life.
I feel the same way about our grass.... it was seeded in the end of March and it's not been a good summer for it to grow properly!
That's OK, Kata, I think that's kind of how it goes with new lawns. We re-started our whole lawn 2 years ago this fall and it takes quite awhile to establish. We aerated/re-seeded last fall and we'll do the same again this year. It's been looking good except the crabgrass is starting to creep in, I spent some time last weekend pulling them out. I felt like such a loser, I never thought I'd be that person pulling weeds out of their lawn.
Elissa, you should just get an aloe plant or cactus, I hear it's impossible to kill them!
My secret was cactus. Though I'm not going to lie - I've killed off many a cacti.
