Checkin in...it's been a while

Aloha ladies...

Sorry I've been MIA...the last 4 weeks have been tumultuous to say the least.  Thank you to those who sent me PMs and notes via FB regarding my job situation as well as my DH's family stuff.  I greatly appreciate it.

I still have  a job, although the position has changed along with my title and salary.  I am grateful to not be unemployed though and truly believe that all things happen for a reason.  I have always thought that someday I'd get an MBA and am newly motivated to make that happen.  I have found a program that is geared towards working professionals and is still accepting applications for the fall...so I am applying!  Wish me luck.  If I don't get in, I'll try again the Spring and look at applying to other programs as well.  For now, I hope I get into this school...it's the perfect program for me and my situation.

  • Thanks for checking in, I was actually wondering how things turned out for you. Very happy to hear that you still have a job and that your dreams of obtaining an MBA can happen. Crossing my fingers that you get in and can start in the fall and that things start looking up!

  • I've been thinking about you a lot too Lori! Stay positive - your life is what you make it!
  • Agreed, life is totally what you make it.  Keep your chin up, heading to an MBA program sounds great.  And, while I know pay cuts are MORE than difficult, you'll make it.  If it helps to know others are in the same boat, in the past 2 years I've taken a $3400 per month cut in pay.....and we're all right.  It was rough, but you make it work.  As for the title, meh, don't let that one bug you.  Good luck on the school front!
  • so glad you checked in Lori!  I've been thinking about you a lot and hoping things are okay - was just thinking yesterday morning on the way to work that I should send you a FB message, and then saw your note here Smile

what a relief that you still have a job, changed as it is. and since it gives you the option to pursue your MBA, all the better!  it's exciting that you've found a program that seems to be a good fit.   Best of luck with the application process!  hugs.

  • I'm glad to see your post today.  I was away for awhile too and scanned the posts here and on the Bump to see if you checked in.  I'm glad to hear that you and your family are well.  The opportunity for attending school sounds like an awesome opportunity!  I'm glad you are taking advantage of it.  Keep us posted.

  • I agree that everything happens for a reason.  As George Clooney says in Up in the Air......  "Anybody who ever built an empire, or changed the world, sat where you are now. And it's because they sat there that they were able to do it."  I know it's a movie quote but it made me think......

    Good luck!
