SB (Inception related)

How was the movie?  I think we may see a late showing tonight.  I want to see it because of the impressive visuals and good reviews, but I'm worried that the confusing plot and (so I hear) ambiguous ending will make me furious.  Did you like it?  Should I see it?

Re: SB (Inception related)

  • I saw it last weekend. The plot was not nearly as confusing as most of the reviews I read made it out to be. I was able to follow along just fine. The ending is ambiguous but I thought it went well with the rest of the movie. If ambiguous ending make you furious, then this one definitely will.

Overall I really liked the movie. There is a ton of psychological stuff going on so if you aren't into that type of movie, you probably won't like this one.

  • We really want to see it because every single person we know has been raving about it.

  • I loved it.  It was definitely a movie that made me think and concentrate, but I didn't find it difficult to follow.  There were some really stunning visuals and I might go see it for that alone.  And my teen crush on Joseph Gordon Levitt is now back in full force.  Brett didn't like it but he really doesn't like Leonardo DiCaprio so it wasn't really a surprise.

The ending was infuriating.  But it fit with the rest of the movie and it didn't ruin it for me.  I really enjoyed it.

  • We did end up seeing it last night, and I liked it.  I didn't find it too hard to follow.  My main complaint is that I really wasn't interested in the story about Leo and Mal.  I would've liked to see more background info on the team members and their individual training (like, what's Arthur's story?  Who taught Yusef?) than all of the angsty Leo-Mal stuff.  Also, what happened to the disapproving grandma we heard on the phone near the beginning?  How did Saito go so quickly from nefarious target/client to valued team member?  WHO was responsible for Leo's son's awful mane of hair?  That person right there is the real villain.
