signs my Gran is slipping?
We got a card in the mail from her, we both assume it's a sympathy card, but we open it up and it's an anniversary card. Que? I gave her the benefit of the doubt for a split second thinking maybe she just forgot to mail it (4 months ago...) or it got lost in the mail or something. That was until we opened it and read it and it said she enjoyed our visit last month, and sorry to hear about J's dad, and hope we have a great anniversary.
I guess my cousin's monopolized them at our wedding so much that they completely forgot when it was
Re: signs my Gran is slipping?
I hope it was just an honest error on when it finally got stuck in the mail! :-( My grandma is slowly losing her short-term memory and it's so hard to see. She'll ask the same questions over and over...and over. She can go on and on about her childhood and when she first met my grandpa though.
Happy thoughts for your gran's thoughts. :-)
11/11/11 = 5 years. Woah!
Aw, maybe she just mixed up your wedding date.
My grandma has begun a new habit in her card writing. She gave me an early anniversary card when I saw her last week, and it went something like this.
Dear Jennifer,
Harold hasn't been feeling well, but was have been taking walks, even though my hip is still sore often. We have a doctor's appointment in the city next week, and I am having lunch with Hattie who I met in 1956 at University. I went for five years, 1953, 1954, 1956, 1957 and 1968. In 1955 I was teaching at the one room school in Kipling. You could do that even if you didn't have your certificate yet.
Happy Anniversary to you and Heith!
Love Grandma and Harold
She wanted to make good use of that anniversary card.
