Poll: Marriage

What do you think is the best part of being married? What do you think has been the hardest part if being married? What did/do you feel you compromised the most in marriage? What have you learned about yourself as a wife? Do you feel being married takes more or less work as when you dated DH?

Re: Poll: Marriage

  • What do you think is the best part of being married? I have my best friend and someone to talk about everything and I can have sexy time anytime and Dh makes  me feel good about myself!

What do you think has been the hardest part if being married? Times get hard with money or fights

What did/do you feel you compromised the most in marriage? After a fight and understand each other

What have you learned about yourself as a wife? No matter whats going on in my day I come home to someone that loves me for who I am. Not to brag or any thing but my cooking has got a lot better and my house has been super cleaner too!

Do you feel being married takes more or less work as when you dated DH? More work b/c both dh and I  are on the same page!
  • What do you think is the best part of being married?Always having a companion around.

What do you think has been the hardest part if being married?Having to make joint decisions and compromise because sometimes we want different things

What did/do you feel you compromised the most in marriage?I had always wanted to live in Japan for a year or so after I graduated and before I started a career, but we got engaged and then Daniel decided to go to graduate school, so I never got to do that (he did though the stinker).  There's  still a possibility it could happen since I work for a Japanese company, but it won't quite be the same.

What have you learned about yourself as a wife?I've actually become much more secure with myself and our relationship.  It feels great and while I enjoyed the dating part and living together, I'm not sure I would want to live through it again lol.

Do you feel being married takes more or less work as when you dated DH? Less work.  We're of course still learning about each other and changing/growing, etc, but we have a strong understanding of how the other works which makes it so much easier and less dramatic than when we were dating.

  • What do you think is the best part of being married? I can burp, fart or sh!t the bed if i want and he can't run away? JUUUSTTT KIDDDINNGG Of course it's being with my best friend for the rest of our lives :)

What do you think has been the hardest part if being married? Ours has been merging our finances...dh is still in the mindset of "my money, your money" sometimes.

What did/do you feel you compromised the most in marriage? ...

What have you learned about yourself as a wife? That i'm SUPER WIFE lol I spoil the hell out of DH, he's even said himself god forbid something ever happen to me he wouldn't know how to do anything..the bills for sure would never be paid and the house would be a mess. lol

Do you feel being married takes more or less work as when you dated DH? Less but we've been together since we were 16 so it was all a learning process from 16 to marriage. We had a lot of ups and downs. Now we're older, we've grown closer and we know each other extremely well.

What do you think is the best part of being married? Always having someone to share anything with, good or bad. What do you think has been the hardest part if being married? Making sure to step back and think before getting into a screaming match. I can be a very short person, so it took some work on my part to control myself to just discuss instead of argue, and sometimes to control the situation if DH is really fired up as well. What did/do you feel you compromised the most in marriage? I don't really feel I compromised anything. What have you learned about yourself as a wife? I have grown to be very patient, and also very sharing (as the baby of the family, that was hard, lol). And that there are a lot of things I really don't mind doing to make someone else happy Do you feel being married takes more or less work as when you dated DH? Less. I think we worked out a lot of snags before we got married when we started living together. And plus now, we're both in sync a lot of the time.

What do you think is the best part of being married? Not being alone. Having that partner What do you think has been the hardest part if being married? Space! Having to share bathroom space & closet space lol. Luckily in the house we worked through all that nicely. In the apt - UGH!!! What did/do you feel you compromised the most in marriage? I guess where we live. I would love to live closer to my family. I stayed in CA to be with DH. What have you learned about yourself as a wife? To compromise on things, not always having my way, to love myself. Do you feel being married takes more or less work as when you dated DH? Lots more work! It was so easy when we dated. Although I don't ever want to go through the whole dating scene!
  • What do you think is the best part of being married? Having Eric as my husband. I think we knew all along while dating that we were perfect for each other.

What do you think has been the hardest part if being married? Combining our family events...my side of the family is alot to handle sometimes. I wish we had a bigger house to have bigger parties!!

What did/do you feel you compromised the most in marriage? Nothing.

What have you learned about yourself as a wife? That I'm a pretty darn cook. lol

Do you feel being married takes more or less work as when you dated DH? More work...when we were dating - bills/mortgage/house stuff/regular day to day stuff did not come into play. Thru everything we have done and experienced, it has made us a stronger and loving couple.

What do you think is the best part of being married?  I love that we have so many common interests and can really just relax with each other.

What do you think has been the hardest part if being married?  We are the opposite as far as demeanor (maybe not the word I mean).  He is laid back and I am super intense, and we sometimes drive each other nuts.

What did/do you feel you compromised the most in marriage? Hmmm... family.  I don't see mine as much as I used to and his drives me nuts.

What have you learned about yourself as a wife? I'm learning better how to be patient, and that he really does need me and the emotional part of me. :)

Do you feel being married takes more or less work as when you dated DH?  I think the same.  We've always been pretty comfortable together; were good friends before we dated and then we lived together before being married.

I think, if we have kids, that will be the biggest strain on/test of our relationship.  We are completely opposite when it comes to views on child rearing.
