  I don't have a whole lot of information on it, however my company uses Angie's List.  There is a fee to be a member but don't know what it is.  We get quite a few referrals from it at work.  Its supposed to be really good to get a list of reliable companies to use w/ a great reputation.  Here's the page I found through our info:

  If I remember correctly, we pay about $40 a year.  We have used it a lot with various services around the house.  Kitchen remodel, basement waterproofing, hardwood floor refinished, surveyor, etc.  We have also used it to find our dentist, and specialty doctors.  We think it's worth the money, as long as you will use its resources.  Try it during a year you know you will need to be using a company's services or the need to find a specialist or to switch doctors.  Then, after that year you dont need it, cancel.
