Re: Flame-free Friday!

  • I wanna use part of my school loans to find a new, better, possibly more expensive apartment. :( Yet i freak out when DH mentions that we can use the loans to do other things. :(
  • I hung out with a couple of friends last night, one who lives out of town and I don't get to see very often.  We had a really nice time hanging out.  There may or may not exist slightly incriminating photos of me.  After getting "threatened" with said photos getting displayed on FB, I reminded these individuals that I have even more incriminating photos of them.  After I got home, I looked in my photo storage and found quite a few embarrassing photos (dating back to 1992) and texted them to the parties in question. I am fairly certain the photos of me (again, that may or may not exist) will not be published.  Devil
  • WHY on earth do companies "require" you to have a bachelors degree for almost every dang job out there?  I've been doing what I do for 13 years now and know more about what I do than almost everyone in my department at work, and I'm the only one without a bachelors degree.

    It's obnoxious.

I guess that was more of a rant than anything huh? :)

  • NYC bikers have really been getting to me lately.

I think it is absolutely fabulous for people to use biking as a way to get around, however, a lot of bikers I've seen do not follow any rules of the road at the same time, they seem to get so pissy when cars do something they deem wrong.

I went on a walk yesterday to get some exercise and I saw that a car had pulled over and put its blinkers on in the bike lane (I wouldn't have done this, but maybe they didn't realize or were from out of town and don't know about bike lanes.  Maybe they just didn't care that it was a bike lane, I don't know).

So a group of 3 bikers bikes by, and obviously upset that the car was in the bike lane, start punching/pounding the car as they ride by, flipped the driver the finger and scramed "f*ck you" extremely loud (I live in a family friendly neighborhood with tons of kids).

This is just one of many things that I see nyc bikers do and it just pisses me off.  They also regularly do not stop at lights and I've almost been ran into numerous times.

  • We've been having major sleep problems with Sasha for the past two weeks. She screams bloody murder every time we put her down. We've tried everything on earth and still can't figure out how to make it stop and get her to sleep. So today, I rocked her for her nap. And guess what, she slept for two blissful hours. It was wonderful, but now I'm certain that I will end up doing that for her naps every day (DH is so much better than I am at calming her down at night) and I'll end up with a 6-year-old kid who needs to be rocked or sleeps in our bed. I just keeping telling myself that the poor kid just needed to sleep already!
