An Afternoon in Salem

Hi Ladies! I'm from the Maine board. I will be driving down to Salem this Saturday for the day, meeting up with some family that is vacationing there. Does anyone have any suggestions on "must see" attractions that are kid friendly in Salem? Also I would appreciate any suggestions for a nice lunch spot. Thanks! :)

Re: An Afternoon in Salem

  • Hi there!

This weekend "Culture Fest" will be taking place on the Common.  There will be music and all around fun for the kids.  There will be a bouncy castle and facepainting.

The USS Friendship, House of Seven Gables is a must see and the Witch Museum, if you are into that stuff. The thing about Salem is that just walking around is fun.  For lunch you could try "kid-friendly" Victoria Station on Pickering Wharf, Salem Beer Works on Derby Street, or Green Land Cafe on Washington Street.

I hope you enjoy our great city!

  • They have a trolley tour that is great for seeing the whole town and getting lots of history about places.  You can hop on and off the trolley if you want to spend more time at specific locations.

Beer Works is pretty family friendly. Unfortunately I haven't been to many other places.
