Yay for a job!

So I got a job. A principal that I interviewed a few weeks ago with called me yesterday and offered me a position as a full time Teacher Assistant. I will be working in a second grade classroom. It is not like a Para-profession who works with the Special Ed students, this is just a second person in the classroom who helps the teacher and works with the kids.

The pay kind of sucks, but it sure is better then no pay at all. Plus since it is a full time position I get full benefits. Now I don't have to apply for unemployment!!

The principal is awesome though. She knows that at most this should only last me the one school year, if even that. She said if someone goes on maternity I could take the position, and even someone asks me to teach at another school to just let her know.

It's a step down from having my own classroom, but its a step into the door. Now I'll have experience with the county, which most of the schools seemed to want before even interviewing me.
