Completely Bummed! LONG
We were supposed to be on the plane, heading out for our HM at 4:10 today. We got a call at 2:00 saying it was pushed back to 5:16. Then we got another call at 3:15 saying that our flight was cancelled all together.
So we have spent the past hour trying to get it all straightened out, but it's been a minor nightmare to say the least. I can't get through any phone calls without crying.
The biggest issue is the rental car. We got a great deal on a premium car for $367 for 7 days. We might lose our reservation because they close at 12:00 and we are scheduled to arrive at 11:24 with Enterprise being 20 minutes from the airport.
So we told Delta to change our flights to go to Albany, NY instead, knowing we'd have more rental options. There are tons more options, but it costs more than twice as much to get the same rental from there, and even if we go with the smallest car, it costs $250 more for the week!
So we called Delta back to change our flights back to Binghamton and we're taking our chances. Our plan is to have HH run off the plane and out to a cab to run him to Enterprise and he'll come back to get me.
And if he misses it, then he'll call and I'll rent one at a counter at the airport, which will still cost us more than twice what our original reservation was for...ugh.
My fear is that there won't be any rentals cuz everyone is flying in there for the baseball hall of fame weekend. Cooperstown is 80-90 miles away and I sure don't want to get stuck in Binghamton. The induction ceremony is on Sunday and that's the whole reason we're going.
This sucks balls!!!!! I am so mad I could spit right now and I'm crying again dammit! Delta won't do anything for us but book different flights at no cost. Enterprise can't do anything for us - and I've asked every person I've talked to. I can't stop crying long enough to truly voice how pissed I am when I'm talking to Delta. This is costing us a lot of money, and my sanity is on the line too. Someone high up at Delta is getting a letter!!!
