Where is your dream vacation destination?

We are starting to plan a trip for next year for our anniversary, but we really don't know where to go yet. We love tropical places, but I thought maybe we could try something new. I thought maybe I would do a poll to liven up the board and get some ideas!

Question: Where is your dream vacation destination?

Re: Where is your dream vacation destination?

  • I'd love to go on a European tour of Italy, Spain, France and England, maybe a few others.
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

  • I have so many dream vacations...

A Mediterranean vacation in Europe - Italy (Venice, Rome, Tuscany, Portofino), Greece (especially Santorini), France (Monte Carlo), Spain (Barcelona).  I want to spend at least 3 weeks on the trip though so its not so rushed.

Tahiti - Bora Bora - I really want to rent one of those over water bungalows and just spend a week doing absolutely nothing.

Costa Rica - I want to go ziplining, hike up the volcano, see the waterfalls, do the ATV tour the jungle and see all the monkeys plus lay on the beach.

Australia - I want to go to the Gold Coast and spend some time in Syndey.

  • I want the tropical vacation. Ideally, like Bora Bora in an overwater bungelow, but I'd take anything I can get. DH has promised me a beach vacation, but keeps convincing me to put it off for more city vacations... It better be next on the vacation queue, damnit! haha.

My nerdy side would like to take a 2 week road trip across the country someday. I want to see all of the cool natural and manmade landmarks across the US, and just wing it and stay at random hotels based on how far you get each day. I think it would be a blast, especially if you drove a sweet ride, like a convertible.

Also, I'd love to do more travelling in Europe. Paris or London.

    After that...Australia

  • In no particular order:

    Hong Kong

    Beijing

    Seoul

    London

    Paris & Provence/Southern France

    Several cities in Italy

    Sydney

    Somewhere in the Caribbean

Domestic - NYC, Denver and/or Aspen, San Diego, Boston, DC

  • Oh there are so many. I think our next big trip will be either Chile/Easter Island (where my father is from; DH has never been) or a European tour (3-4weeks). I have been to Europe many times, but DH has never been.  He lived in Asia for 10 years, and has done lots of traveling, but we just so happen to have seen different halves of the world!
  • I'm hoping for a tour of Italy for our 30th birthday blowout in 2 years.

I also really want to go to Croatia, Sweden, and India.

Sarajoy--Have you been to all the continents yet?

Hi! I have not been to Australia or Antarctica. Would love to get to both eventually, but neither is at the top of our current list! We have a huge map in our office that we place pins in (one color for countries I've been to, one color for countries he's been to, and a third color for countries we have both been to) and it is so fun to "fill it up"!

We leave for Israel Friday, and have a long layover in Poland. I think we are going to leave the airport and explore Warsaw a bit, as neither of us have been.
