I'm hoooooome!

I had my surgery Thursday morning and everything went great.   I've actually been really surprised about how good I've felt through the whole process.

The only trouble I have had is in taking the hydrocodone they gave me (once they took my morphine button away).  It made me nauseous, so I haven't been taking it.   I've been taking some children's tylenol here and there (it has to be liquid), but honestly the pain hasn't been bad at all.

I'm SO happy I did it and I'm really looking forward to being a lady of leisure for a few weeks, and finally getting to nest during the day again!

Re: I'm hoooooome!

  • So glad it's going well post-surgery!  Sorry about the bad reaction to the hydrocodone, been there done that, it's no bueno.  But at least you don't seem to be needing anything that strong, that's great.

    Here's to quick healing!

  • That's great! I'm glad to hear youaree feeling better than you thought! What did they tell you to expect in terms of weight loss at first?

  • Welcome home, Vickers! I'm so happy you're doing so well. Sorry you can't do the good drugs, though.

  • Welcome home!  Glad to hear everything is going well for you :)  Did they at least install an extra vagina for you while they had you under?
  • I'm glad it went well. I hope your recovery continues to be easy on you.
I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz

  • Thanks for all the good wishes and stuff.  I hope they made Fenton mad.

Kristen - they haven't really laid out an expectation for me, but I have read that most people lose 10-20 lbs per month for the first year.  I have lost 8 already!  It'd hard not to obessively weigh myself.

HT - Al has been super helpful by shredding one of our couch pillows while I was in surgery.  I can't blame him though, we were both nervous wrecks the morning of the surgery that we forgot to give him his kongs, and I'm sure he picked up on our neuroses.

And I feel like I totally got cheated out of an extra vagina.  If I couldn't wear my underpants, the least they could have done was hooked me up with one.

Also, I can't wait to eat egg salad Thursday.

Oh, and hiccups totally suck when your stomach has just been cut apart.
