Alcohol and cooking question

I'm making something in the crock pot tomorrow while at work (not KA's tacos, I made those last weekBig Smile) and it calls for beer. I bought a large bottle of Guinness (1.25 pint sized) but the recipe only calls for some of that.

If I were to drink the remainder tonight, would it make the part reserved for the recipe flat and gross tomorrow? I figured it didn't matter as much since it was going to be cooking for 8 hours but wasn't sure.

The other option is to open the bottle tomorrow then hope that the remainder is ok to drink tomorrow night and not totally flat or yucky. Thoughts?

Re: Alcohol and cooking question

  • You can use it tonight if you put the lid back on and put it back in the fridge asap.  I will use 1/2 bottle of beer for bread one night and the other half a few nights later with no discernible difference in the bread.
