Q for moms (and soon to be's!)
i'm thinking we all probably played barbies and babies as kids and i'm sure we all gravitated towards a certain name we always wanted to use for our barbie or baby...and then as we grew up, we would think "if i had a baby girl her name would be ___ and i like ___ for a boys name"....
now that you're actually a MOM - did you name your child anything remotely similar to what you always "imagined" naming your child?
for instance, i was certain my sister was going to name her baby "emma" because she always said she was going to... but yeahhhh that's not my niece's name!
Re: Q for moms (and soon to be's!)
My girls name was also Emma, which I still love but it is way too popular. So I didnt want to use it with Emmy.
My boys name has always been Christopher Michael. Doubt we will use it if we have a boy (DH picked another name) but I still love it.
Baby #2 - D&E - 10/1/10 @ 19w2d - thanatophoric dysplasia confirmed.
Charlotte Lillian will be forever in our hearts.
Baby #3 - Little Bean - natural miscarriage - 1/17/11 @ 5w5d
Snuggle.
Snuggle.
I always wanted a boy to be named Jacob Allen b/c that is what my grandpa wanted me to be named, so he has always called me Jake or Jakeybabe, hence my screen name.
I wanted to name a girl Jenna Ann. Jenna after my bff from high school, Jenn, and Ann b/c it's my middle name and a family name.
John vetoed both names b/c he didn't want to be a family of all "J" names. His aunt and uncle did that and the family gives them trouble for it.
When I was a kid, I always liked names like Ashley, Amber, Brittany...will definitely NOT use any of those names for a daughter. I went through an Emily phase in college, but then I realized how popular it is.
I've never been able to come up with boy names that I like. So just watch...I'll have nothing but boys.

I honestly don't think I had any favorite names as a child. And I can't remember if I named my Barbies or not??
For the record, Barbies were the BEST toy ever! I think I would still play with them if I had any, or had an excuse.
I always loved the name Alexander and call the girl Alex. And for some reason I got on a kick I loved the names Maria, Ashlan, Chloe..none of which I would use today.
I never really thought about boys names either.
For the record I am not pregnany but just wanted to respond.
