My boss's husband passed away this weekend.
I would like to send flowers, but I'm having trouble figuring out where to send them -
She plans on coming into work tomorrow - do I send some to work (I'm thinking maybe pick some up from the grocery store?) We share an office.
The memorial service will be on August 7 - do I send some flowers to this?
Should I just send some to her house to cheer her up?
I'm still waiting to hear if she will even want flowers, or if they wish that in lieu of flowers send a donation to the ACS.
Thoughts?
Re: Sending Flowers
I would send flowers to the memorial service - the funeral information is usually listed in the obituary (as would be the suggestion of donations to the ACS in lieu of florwers if that's what she prefers).
If you want to do something in the meantime, maybe take some food/send a tray to her house.

Was this the coworker/boss who was working part-time to care for her sick husband and it was putting stress and more work on you? I'm sorry to hear her husband passed away.
I agree with Hawki's suggestion of sending food. You could bring flowers to the office, but would she then have to take them home?
Yes.
I'm thining I want to bring in a little something to the office - b/c even though he just passed, she is already planning on being here for a few hours tomorrow.
I do like the idea of food - but she has already told me that her close friends and neighbors have been more then helpful in this area.
Once I know more, I will be contributing (either a donation, or flowers) for the memorial service.

I like this--a card and something that can live on its own at the office. Then send flowers to the service later.
