If so, what books/authors/subjects do you like? I love to read and just started a series by J.R. Ward, the Black Dagger Brotherhood series (vampire romance, lol). Someone recommended it from my work and I'm zipping through the 3rd one now.
Maybe we can talk books and authors and suggest what books to pick up?
Re: Do you like to read?
Some people become librarians even though they're not huge readers, but I'm not one of them.
I read a lot, though not as much as I used to.
Right now I'm working on The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I've gotten a lot of good book ideas from hanging out on the Nest Book Club board. I'm half-heartedly doing their Summer Book Challenge.
Where did you download them???? You mean to tell me that I could have been finishing up book 6 here at my desk instead of just sitting here trying not to fall asleep??
I'm going to ignore the whole copyright-infringement issue up there... Ow.
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is really good so far. I'm sad because I have to return it to the public library on Thursday, and I'm not going to be done with it by then. I have a feeling that somebody has a hold on it, so I won't be able to renew, and I'm too broke to buy my own copy right now!
That sucks about the book. I can't stand to have to stop reading a book midway through.
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.

I am a voracious reader. My siblings and I were all VERY early readers (I was reading chapter books before starting kindergarten, and reading at a junior high school level when I was 5) and now my nieces and nephews are the exact same way. I loooooooooooove to read, probably one of the reasons that I became a teacher. I could honestly just sit and read books to my class all day long, if only I didn't have to teach the other pesky subjects like math and science, haha!
Right now I am not reading ANYTHING because I didn't get a library card here yet (keep meaning to do that...) and I have been trying to scrapbook and write thank you notes whenever I can force myself to sit down long enough to focus on anything.
I am definitely, 100% getting a library card before the HM though. While I don't plan on spending my HM reading, I will definitely need a few books for the plane, and for any time spent lying by a pool getting sun.
Call me a nerd, but I looooove the Harry Potter series. I have read the entire thing a few times over now, and I still cry every time.
Stu, someone else told me about the Sooke Stackhouse series. Are they the book version on True Blood?
I like anything mystery and since Twilight I am addicted to vampire books. I also like historic mystery/romance like Philippa Gregory. Lately I think I can read just about anything. I love that feeling when you're totally into a book and you forget everything around you - it's like you're in the book. Then someone says something or the phone rings and -bam- you're back to reality.
Yep, they're the series that the show was based on!! They're AWESOME!!
This!! I did that on the honeymoon. I think it was the last day or next to the last day on the cruise, and all I did was sit on the balcony and read. Adam would come out and read for a bit and then go back inside. I could not put the book down. I hate the feeling that when you read a series, and you're on the last book, and you're like, that's it?? What happens next?? I want more! LOL or maybe I'm just crazy.

I got this for DH for Christmas... I figured you might like it : )
Probably. Most legal e-books aren't in pdf format unless the work is in the public domain, though. I will not turn you in to the copyright police... but just you go think about what you've done!!!
Haha.
Ditto these as well!!
I tried to read while walking on the treadmill on my lunch breaks, but it aggravated my carpal tunnel/tendonitis/whatever because I had to hold the book up on the book rest! How lame is that?
I agree. You can totally judge books by their covers.
Megan, I love that, I would totally wear it if only it were a bit smaller
And also, I hope this doesn't freak you out but I think your hubby is SO hot! He's totally my other type. Rawr.
It definitely is annoying having to hold the book and I'm sure its even worse with carpal tunnel/tendonitis. I have to be careful about the size and thickness so that they're easier to hold.
I did exactly the same thing! I figured being an English major was the only way I was going to be able to read good books and get credit for it. And I, too, try to fill in my missed classics now and then.
