XP: Adopting a dog these are our top picks!

See photos below- sorry for the inconvience, my first attempt was a fail.

We would name the male sweetheart Kody or Tucker:

He's a rescued (dumped near a max capacity shelter) great pyr, under a year old, leash and house broken. He loves attention and is very gentle with children.

The baby girl would be Abigail or Bella:

She is in a prison training program right now and will graduate within the next 8 weeks. They have her listed at a St. Bernard/ Aussie.

  • Both of them!!!!! :) They can be BFF's. They are both so cute! That's a tough decision. I think it's really nice of you to adopt a dog. Good luck!
  • They are both so cute!!!  Have you spent time alone with each of them?  I know I felt a connection with the dog that I adopted.  I met 5 or 6 dogs that day and she was the last one and I just knew she was the one.

It looks like either way you go you are going to have a lot of dog hair!  I have a Golden so I can relate!

    Good Luck!!

Ditto this.  I spent time with a few puppies at the Humane Society & Lily was the one who clicked with me.  And she's part Golden, so I also understand the hair!  Fluffy was the only puppy at the SPCA so he was the one I brought home-probably not the best way to pick a dog, but at least I know better now.

How old is the female?  Puppies are so cute but they don't always have the physical & mental development for quick training.  The male is old enough to "get" housetraining & other rules right away.  On the other hand, she should be ahead of the game b/c of the prision program.  Would you consider both?  Two dogs can entertain & comfort each other-on the flip side they can teach each other bad habits! (My Fluffy taught Lily to be a barker, the stinker!)  Are they both in rescues/foster homes?  I bet the foster families could tell you so much about each one.
