$1000 for a 5 day cruise on norweigan in december
$430 for two round trip plan tickets through spirit, detroit to fort lauderdale

wow thats pricey. our HM was 7 days and it was 650 pp for the cruise.
What dates in Dec.? I signed in for my $9 fare club and I'm getting $32 fares for the 1st/mid of December. I wouldn't pay $430 to fly to FL on Spirit!
You stayed in an inside room though right?? That price I posted was for a balcony, it was $480 pp, LOL. When I play around with planning I aim high. The inside rooms were $200 something, but most likely we wouldn't do inside. I'd have to stay in oceanview or a balcony. Also, I only shopped one cruise line because I was playing around so I'm sure I can find one even cheaper than Norweigan. Obviously if DH said yes, which he won't, I'd shop around every cruise line.
And Kel - I don't think $215 round trip is horrendous for nonstop to Florida and I like Spirit, maybe I'm weird. If we did go I would def looking into joining the $9 fare club because like you said they had $32 each way which is cheap. But I priced the flights not being in the club.
You are right, that is not bad. I guess I'm just use to my $9 fares to FL ... LOL. We flew the 6 of us to FL in Feb. for maybe $250.
The dates for the $32 fare are
DTW: 1,5,6,7,8,9,12,13,14
FLL: 2-4, 6-11, 14-15
Total w/ taxes for the two tickets: $206.36
** Now for that I'd be all about going! ***
The only thing with a cruise is I'm pretty much stuck to certain dates. The cruise I want to go on is Dec. 12-17. With $9 fare club I can get a flight to Florida for $32, but there are no return flights on Dec. 17 in the $9 fare club, they were all $140 or $160 per ticket for return. I'd consider staying an extra day but there are also no flights in the $9 fare club the following day either and then I'd have to pay a hotel anyways even if we did get a cheap flight that day. So if and that is a huge if we went I would pay $200-$215 to fly spirit round trip. I'd look into other airlines too though.
If we could be more flexible on our dates it would be much easier to find something super cheap in the $9 club. I'm sure that is how you managed $250 for 6 people, you were not stuck to specific dates. What a steal!!!!
