Poll: Do people IRL know that you post here?
Re: Poll: Do people IRL know that you post here?
I do this, too.
My H knows, and I told my best friend once, but she likely forgot. H mostly thinks its a silly waste of time and he isn't really the type to look over my shoulder to check up on what I post, although once he got upset that I posted something about his new fitness regimen on the health and fitness board. I would prefer if people I knew IRL weren't snooping on me here though.
If I am talking to friends in passing about something linked to the forums, I'll say "my online friends"....so Ha! You guys are my online friends.
Only HH knows but that's really only because I don't think that nesting would really come up in conversation with any of my friends...he knows because he sees me when I'm on here sitting on the couch next to him
He just calls it "your silly little website" (in a cute way...haha).
Yea i tell most ppl, i usually call it the message board with the May 2010 ladies, hahaha And i totally refer to you guys as my friends too
and i had to think for a few minutes what IRL meant, LOL but i got it
DUDE! I was totally just about to make a post about this!
I'm pretty sure Jason is the only one that knows... and he thinks it's dumb lol
HH actually asks me how all the nesties are doing. He had a hard time switching from knotties because it made him laugh to ask how the knotties are doing like we are all naughty little girls. I know silly but he and I are pretty silly.
He is the only one I really talk to about you ladies. Or something that was said on the nest. He finds it funny that I message here still. Thinking well the weddding is over. But you ladies make me smile and that is all of an answer he needs.
My friends all know you as my "internet friends" haha. It's funny to them because I'm so computer illiterate, and I know some lingo now and it's apparently just hilarious.
I start more sentences with "Today on the Nest..." than I probably should.
Matt tolerates it. With as much Madden as he plays, really, what else is he gonna do? We all have our things that look silly to others but make us happy.
I feel a little weird because he had to back away from internet friends for various reasons. He says that he has an addictive personality (well, he would know; addiction counselor!) and internet relationships were one area where things had gotten out of hand. He had to go cold-turkey on chat rooms and IM and stuff, so I sort of feel like the spouse who cracks open a beer every night even though her husband's a recovering alcoholic.
Hahaha!
Jon says I am "addicted to the internet" now, but if I am, he contributed to it! When I first started dating him (and even now sometimes), the first thing he does when he gets up is go to computer to check emails, go on gizmodo, etc.,
this.
"i usually call it the message board with the May 2010 ladies"
THIS...
"I start more sentences with "Today on the Nest..." than I probably should"
And THIS...
But I really only talk about it around my Family (Mom/Dad/Brother/SIL), my BFF and DH.
Adam knows and my sister knows. I keep this page up on my laptop at home all the time and just end up refreshing the page when I come back to it. Adam's on a UNC basketball forum, but he never replies to any of the threads, he just reads. And my little sister is on a parenting board, baby gaga, and she has tons of friends from that board. I do pull up the board while I'm at work, and since I don't have an office, most people I work with could see, but I doubt anyone reads it over my shoulder, except for this one guy who is rude like that, but I hardly ever work with him.
I usually refer to you guys as "the board I'm on."
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
RIGHT!??! DH has a few forums and blogs that he follows too! So I sit on the couch with my MacBook and he sits next to me with his iPad and the puppies just curl up around us. Enjoy it while it lasts!!
lol I'm the same way. HH thinks its silly that I get on here but he doesn't really care. I used to mention to my mom alot when we were on the knot but I don't talk about it anymore.
