KASA - or other priceline users
Kasa, you had tried the name your own price thing for Chicago, right? Do you usually do the loop area? and how much do you 'offer' ?
TIA

Re: KASA - or other priceline users
Hi!
Yes, I have done this once (last summer). It worked great, so we'll definitely try it again sometime.
I selected Millenium Park/Loop/Grant Park. My bid was $65 and we got the Hyatt Regency. Definitely a sweet deal! That price does not include taxes and fees though. Also, if you're driving, parking at the hotel lot is very pricey. It's still a great deal though after you add everything up.
If you want to do more research, check out betterbidding.com. I found that web site to be quite helpful. They tell you what hotels you're likely to get based on your bids/locations, and also what bids are being accepted so you know where to price yourself.
Good luck!
If you bid too low and no one accepts it, can you try again right away?
We're looking at a weekend in August. I don't want to low-ball too much, but want to get a great deal if I can!
You can only bid once per 24 hour period, per credit card number.
ETA: Although I think if you choose a different area (like River North), you can bid again right away since you changed the search parameters. Same thing if you change the date. And maybe the hotel class too.
Thanks! I just booked the Hyatt Regency for $85 per night! With taxes and fees it came to just over $100 per night
(price otherwise was $194 per night!)
I was happy w/ that being that it's a summer weekend and all.
