whats on your list
for home improvements? We are in the middle of redoing the kitchen and its been making me itch to do hundreds of other things around here, I love DIY projects. Im thinking the back patio is next.

Our next big project is adding on a deck to the back of the house. Last Dec we finished up a huge remodel/addition on our house, so we've been content with the house for the last few months.
The other main things on the list are 1) cleaning up the landscaping and figuring out how to keep our grass alive in the back, and 2) staining all of the inside of our closet shelves. They're still natural wood from the remodel and we never got around to finishing them before we moved back in.
Pantry, Backyard, Covered Patio, and pieces of the living room. Oh, and one of the guest bedrooms. Oh, and the master bath.
Oh, I have such a huge list! When I bought my house about a year ago, the original owner was selling. So, while it had been very well maintained, it hadn't been updated in 20 years. Here's what I still want to (/plan to do as funds and free time allow) do:
paint three bedrooms
replace fireplace mantle, re-tile fireplace
guest bathroom (remove wallpaper, add paint, replace mirror & maybe vanity, change lighting)
master bathroom (see guest bathroom list, except definitely vanity)
paint kitchen walls, cabinets
re-tile kitchen backsplash
replace all interior doors
replace bedroom(s) & kitchen ceiling fan, possibly also replace lighting in kitchen
frame dining area mirror
replace dining area lighting
deal with that one foyer wall (which currently is covered with old lady wallpaper)
paint laundry room
paint exterior of house, repairs as needed
replace garage door
deal with front yard landscaping (prune bushes, maybe replace some landscaping)
trim trees
I also want to do something on my covered back patio. Like buy furniture, and maybe put outdoor curtains around it (<---hard to describe, but I've seen it before and it looks really nice)
Evidently, I need to buy a powerball ticket tonight!
Rarely Updated Blog
I have two that I would like to finish in the next few weeks.
1. Spraypainting our downstairs door knobs from brass to brushed nickel.
2. Paint the trim around the foyer from an ugly mauve color to an off white.
I want to do soooo many things....
Must Do:
Replant front flower bed. In a fit of annoyance with the HOA who kept citing us for weeds in our flower bed, I hired a lawn company to just pull all of it out (they were ugly and scraggly anyway). I want to put a nice border on it and some hearty plants.
Finish painting our bathroom. We replaced all the tile and fixtures, but we still haven't finished doing the cut in work on the painting.
Finally rent the storage unit for our extra stuff so we can clean out the garage. Hate that we can't park in there. If we clean it out, we may even install a garage door opener... (dreaming big here)
Want to Do:
Crown molding in the master bedroom. We have a nice tray like ceiling that would really benefit from it.
Replace carpet with hardwoods or laminates. We're looking at moving in the next year and can't figure out if this is worth it.
