I just got into a car accident...my fault. ;( everyone is fine, I know that's the most important part, I'm just irritated with myself. it was raining and the car skidded. her car is a little beat up, ours is pretty trashed. oh, and this is the same car that was trashed in the great hail storm of 2009. it's my first accident where it was my fault.
fark me.
p.s. the police didn't issue me a citation but is it possible I'll receive it in the mail later?

Re: f@ck!
Aw, man, that sucks.
Sorry to hear it but glad everyone is OK!
Hmm.. the ones I've seen have had citations issued there, but I think its possible since they mail them out for traffic cameras. Maybe it depends on what the other person's insurance asks for?

Oh no, that totally sucks!! I've never heard of anyone being issued a citation after the officer leaves the scene, although the three accidents I've been involved in weren't my fault. Well, technically one of them was listed as "no fault"--I was pulling out of a side street at the top of a hill, and got hit by a lady speeding up the hill: we each felt like the other was at fault, but no one got a ticket.
Uh, anyway, sorry for the tangent! You should be in the clear as far as getting a citation if you didn't at the scene. Glad no one was hurt!

Aw, S! That sucks! I'm sorry!
Glad everyone is alright though. I think you'd be in the clear for citations if the officer didn't issue one at the scene. I hope so.
Would mangled cake balls make you feel better?

They usually issue it on the spot. Or, they'll follow you to the ER and give you the ticket there. A lot of people assume if they are taken to the hospital they don't get a ticket - wrong!
I'm sorry, sucks about your car. Glad everyone is alright.
yes, they would.
xoxo,
pity party for myself
thanks for the replies! I wasn't speeding - I was in the left turn lane, started to break, my car skidded, and I hit the car that was stopped in front of me. good to hear I shouldn't receive a citation, that's the last thing I need right now!
all of this because I was trying to be good and went to the gym. I knew I should have stayed home.
In my family, we have a saying that seems like it would apply here: That'll show you.

I know, right?
OK, I'm doing my exercise video at home tomorrow. no need to be on the road - for my sake and others. and now I'm that a$$hole who starts breaking 20 miles before the car in front of her.
