Score!

Just got a really nice stoller/car seat travel system for MIL's house on craigslist.. $40!

Seriously.. i think i'm slightly obsessed with craigslist and freecycle. But you can't beat it. everything we have for MIL's house so far is from either one of the websites.. high chair - free, excersaucer- free, bouncy seat - free, now the travel system $40.. all in perfect to near perfect condition. I swear i will not become some crazy garbage picking hoarder lol

Re: Score!

  • Make sure it's not expired!
  • I love both of those websites. I'm always getting great stuFf too! Oh how I love a bargain!

Wow, good job.  Was most of that from craigslist or freecycle?

And Stellar, strollers and car seats expire???

  • It sounds weird, huh.  Car seats generally expire 5-10 years after they're issued.  I'm pretty sure it's due to safety surrounding the breaking down of the plastic within the car seat.  Most car seats stay in cars all day long in hot and cold and that affects how the plastic ages and breaks down.  They usually list the expiration date on the car seat.

Yeah, I never would have guessed!  It's amazing what you don't think about.  Next time I see one, I'm going to look to see if I can find the expiration date...

we're not using the car seat for anything other than the stroller but the base fits my car seat so MIL can use that base for her car :)
