Best Romantic Restaurants in MA

FI & I's two years in this friday. We are from Worcester... but we've been to every single restaurant out here! I'm looking for a nice restaurant for us to go to. Somewhere between Worcester and Boston... or like 40 minutes from Worcester..... Any suggestions?

Re: Best Romantic Restaurants in MA

  • Parsons Table in Winchester

    Salts in Cambridge

    Blue Ginger in Wellesley

    La Campagna in Waltham

Or make a big date night of it and head into Boston proper and hit No. 9 Park.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • sanoma in princeton is really nice.

    Anniversary
  • Worcester has a lot of hidden jems!  We just went to Aglios, which is right on Rt 12 between Worcester and West Boylston.  Our favorite spot is Bocado in Worcester- get a nice quiet table for 2!  Or you can go with a group, but the food is always fabulous.  Piccolos on Shrewsbury St is also nice for date night.
  • I love Dali in somerville. It's a tapas place, so you can drink sangria nd share everything.

  • Sel De La Terre in Natick

If you want to come into Boston I highly recommend 10 Tables, we've only been to the one in JP but there is also a location in Cambridge

    La Campagna in Waltham

Is this place any good? I live 2 minutes from there and I never think to go in.

It's supposed to be awesome.  So, yeah, I'm recommending it w/o ever having been there myself :P  You must live really close to me because I'm not far from there either!  The one thing that's kept me and DH from going there so far is that it's pretty pricey and I have a hard time spending big bucks on Italian food.

  • I have said this many time but I love La Campania.  It IS also very romantic.  It isn't your "run of the mill" Italian food so it's worth the $ in my opinion.  Their Colorado rack of lamb is the BEST lamb I have ever had. They also have a great wine list.  You can also make reservations in the bar where you can order pizzas if you want to go a little more casual.

I just checked out the menu, and it looks really good.  H and I might have to have a date night there!

I think I'm gonna check it out sometime before the end of the summer. We live right off main street near Hannaford. We're probably neighbors, haha!

  • I completely agree!
  • It's kind of old school, but The Top of the Hub is romantic, classy, and has a killer view!
  • I second Ten Tables - the JP one is very intimate and has delicious food!

Troquet - next to Boston Common

Oleana - won "Best of Boston Romantic Dinner"

Salts - Cambridge, MA - just very good

If you want to splurge: my top 3 tried and true are No. 9 Park (Barbara Lynch), Clio, or Uni (both by Ken Oringer, of KO Prime and Coppa)

Sorry all my recs are in Boston area, it's just where I live and where I go when I want a great meal! Good luck! :o)

  • Pomadoro in Brookline Village (Harvard St) has a very intimate atmosphere - Mediterranean food.

Meritage in Boston proper (in Boston Harbor Hotel) is excellent - American tapas dishes that are all created around specific wine types.  (this was listed on open tables top 10 romantic restaurants)

I am a self-proclaimed Italian food snob - I studied in Italy several years ago -  so I am a tough critic when it comes to Italian (vs. Italian American) food, but La Campania is AMAZING!  It was DH and my favorite place when we lived in Waltham (followed closely by Tempo).  Sadly we just moved to Woburn so it's a bit of a hike to get back there for dinner :(

  • I know you weren't asking about restaurants south of Worcester, but Sienna in Providence on Federal Hill is AMAZING :)?
  • Regarding the Top of the Hub recommendation...We ate in the dining room once.  The atmosphere and service were fancy but the food itself wasn't very good - you're really paying for the view (which btw is pretty awesome!)

I'd say if you decide to go with Top of the Hub, sit in the bar where you can get more casual (less expensive) food and see the same view. Or you could even go up to the bar just for a cocktail or two, then head somewhere else for dinner.

  • What about Sole on Moody St Waltham. Tapas bar that I heard was amazing.
