Anyone willing to share their pasta sauce recipes?

I have a confession, my dad makes his own spaghetti sauce and I HATE it. Please don't tell him! hehehe Its a meat sauce which I'm not a fan of. And I don't know what it is but I'm never excited for it.

Do any of you ladies have a great recipe you are willing to share?  I know some folks are touchy about sharing their family recipes

TIA :)

Re: Anyone willing to share their pasta sauce recipes?

  • awww my homemade sauce is a meatsauce so it would probably be a no go for you

This recipe is always well-received.  Its the spices that give it the nice flavour though, so if you have meat lovers, include the sausage, they would love that.  For veggie lovers, put in lots of mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes, etc.

  • I use AllRecipes.com regularly because the reviews are usually helpful and have good modifications sometimes and you aren't likely to get a recipe which actually sucks, like you can on blogs, etc.

  • mine is a meat sauce too, and it's pretty bangin'.  But I'd have to look it up at home if you wanted it.

  • Sorry but I cheat and use Ragu sauce from a jar. If I had a homemade recipe I would share it with you though!

  • I cheat too. I start with canned sauce and add oregano, basil and veggies (onion, green pepper, etc. ) or meat.... cheating, yes, but it's easier and still tastes really good!

WHEN I actually cook, I cheat too.  I use the stuff out of the jar and then dump in a bunch of extra spices... celery flakes, Italian seasoning, garlic powder.  Adam makes his own and pretty much does the same thing, but instead of using the stuff in a jar, he just uses canned tomato paste and tomato sauce and then adds the seasonings and hamburger meat

  • 1/2 Cup Salted Butter

1 Small Carton of Heavy Whipping Cream

    2 Tablespoons of Minced Garlic

11/2 Cups Grated Fresh Parmesan Cheese (or replace half a cup of the cheese with romano) I buy the already shredded cheese that is in the plastic tubs in the refrigerator section

Melt butter over low heat until all the way melted, add heavy whipping cream, then add garlic increase heat to medium medium high, stirring with a whisk is the easiest. As it starts just starts to bubble, add cheese slowly, stirring often until cheese is melted and the alfredo is a good thickness turn on low heat or turn off put saranwrap over the top so it doesn't thicken on the top. while you finish everything else. I like to make hubby grill chicken while I am doing this & cooking the pasta.

Its simple and honestly I get tired of all the stirring so it doesn't get lumpy but its worth it and you can double with no problem.

MMmm that sounds great! I tried an alfredo sauce recipe I found here on the nest and it wasn't that good.
