Seriously. I hate it. I hate cleaning up, I hate that all my work is over in a matter of minutes. Instead of heating up some leftover pork tenderloin and making some summer squash for lunch, I ate 6 oatmeal raisin cookies because it was easier. WTF. This is not okay. I need out of my I-hate-cooking funk!

Hahaha...this is me too! However, since I'm now unemployed, I've made it a point to cook dinner at least once a week. I even use real dishes instead of our usual paper plates and plastic forks (horrible, I know).
I have been waiting to use the new kitchen gear we got as wedding presents until we buy a house, but now that it's been put on hold, I'm thinking of breaking out the new toys. That gives me some motivation...
I've also started a new blog where I have some recipes and pics of what I cook...it's nothing really yet, so not sure how inspiring it'll be, but here's the addy:

This exactly. Except I love cooking...more for others than for myself though. It's hard to whip up a nice meal just for myself...but cooking for others (aka MH) motivates me...
btw love the siggy pic!!!!

i am the same way - beyond just the clean up I get overwhelmed thinking about the prep sometimes too.
to get back in the swing of things I usually ramp up to full on cooking after being in a funk by starting out with semi-ready made from trader joes
Thanks!
I don't like either. Todd helping with one or the other isn't an option. #1 - he's currently working in Houston every week so he's not even here, and #2 - if he was home and I told him he had to clean, we'd go out to eat, #3 - he cannot cook and his idea of cooking is ordering a pizza.
When lunch was said and done yesterday, I made it 9 oatmeal raisin cookies. I am never buying Trader Joe's Charmingly Chewy cookies again.
