DH is working in Cincy already and we are getting ready to sell our house in Louisville to move up there ASAP. We are looking in the Sharonville/Deerfield Park/West Chester areas (there are so many little "towns" up there how freaking confusing!). I used to date a Proctoid and was in Cincy every weekend for a long time!
Anyway I saw you have abook club and I read a lot so thought I would ask for some info on it.
Also if anyone has any info on the schools/tax rates or whatever in the areas we are looking I appreciate it. We haven't chosen a realtor yet as we are waiting for house to sell to actually look up there. I don't want ot fall in love with a house and have it sell.
Also I am looking into going back to school to get my degree in nursing and was looking for info on schools in the area. I want my RN or BSN. I already have a degree in an unrelated field.
Thanks for the info and I'll be joining ya'll soon!

Re: Moving to Cincy/Book Club/Any nurses?
Hi and Welcome!
I'm not new to cinci, but I'm new to this board as I just got married a month ago so I have no info on the book club but I'd love to know more and possibly join it as well!
For nursing school, I have a friend who just graduated from nursing school at UC and she liked it.
My husband grew up in the areas you're looking at and knows a lot about them. He could tell you way more than me. He is a realtor with Keller Williams and would be glad to answer any questions you have! Feel free to email him crawley @ kw.com (his name is Manny)
If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask!
You should page Denise2005 on the Cincy Bump board - she's in nursing school right now and had a career in an unrelated field prior to going back to school. I know there are a bunch of nurses here on the nest and a bunch who are active posters on the bump board.
book club meets monthly at restaurants on weeknights around around the city. we send out an evite. we can add your email addy when you move. we are not hardcore about it at all, sometimes no one even reads the book selected.
i have no idea about school taxes. mason and west chester both have really good public schools though.
i know ppl that have gone to christ hospital and great oaks for their RN. both seem like good options.
Thanks ladies!
I have a few sorority sisters from college that I am still close with that live up that way but really no support network. DH is from England and I am from here. My parents are still in Louisville but my two brothers live in PA and WI so now my parents are really going to be childless. And I just had a baby 7 weeks ago- so this is all a lot at once but still fun.
Cincy is similar to Louisville so I don't think it will be that much of a change except we can go to NFL games and I LOVE me some football!
You might also want to look into Liberty Township and Maineville. Liberty Township is part of Mason schools (I think). Maineville is part of Loveland schools (which are good and doesn't have as much of the same problems as Mason budget-wise). If you're looking at Sharonville, you might want to check out Evendale or Blue Ash--both are close to 75/71 and have decent schools (both are Princeton schools I think, Blue Ash might be part of the Montgomery/Sycamore School district which is pretty good).
