Help Request! Best sites for making photo books?

Ladies - I'm trying to figure out which of the many sites that allow you make your own photobook has the best quality product in terms of the pages, the cover, and how they are bound. Have any of you made your own Parent albums or even wedding albums? Who did you use and did you like them? Have you heard of any that are supposed to be good?

We are still waiting for our "main" album, a gorgeous flush mount from our photographer, but we didn't order their parent albums, figuring we could make those online. But there are so many companies and I'm not sure who is really the best...

I was planning to use somerset (www.somersetalbums.com ), but their software seems to be really "clunky" and it takes forever to get the pictures loaded. The product seems to be nice, but I'm not sure if want the hassle of figuring out their software. All suggestions are welcomed!!

  • I just ordered a "Madison" book from Picaboo.  I should be getting it in the next week or so.  I can take some pictures and give you my review then.

  • I was thinking of doing the picaboo "flush mount" one because I'm obsessed w/ the real thick pages....so I think I may do that for parent albums but I'm not sure....its SO expensive...
  • I made my mom a photobook on Snapfish and it came out great.  I looked at a bunch of different sites and I liked the styles on there the best since I wanted a hard book with a paper cover (don't know the technical term, but it's the kind they have on hardcover novels).  It came within a few days and was really cheap. I think with a 50% off coupon I had it was only $20 something.

I'm in the process of making similar books for my father and MIL.

  • I used www.mypublisher.com for my wedding album and it turned out great!  I love it!  I got the jumbo sized, leather bound one and it is beautiful.  They have different cover options, different sized books, etc.

  • mpix is the one that a lot of amature photographers use to print their stuff for show and all - they make really nice books.

Snapfish books lets you put a lot more pages (up to 100 I think) vs shutterfly which only lets you have like 1/2 that. I'll prob order mine from snapfish so I have have more pages :-)
