I am in the process of getting a job in a hospital in a different state and HR called me today to finish a few things (like background checks, orientation days, etc). HR said ok so you applied for X position which is PNR (flexible shift/weekends). I clarified and said X position as an assistant, which is also PNR. She just kept talking and said the hourly rate was $30/hour. I was THRILLED! I currently make $18/hour so this was huge! I told the hubs, then called my mom and happily told her. As I was talking to my mom the HR woman beeped in... she was mistaken (!!!of course she was!!!). She gave me the rate for someone with their masters, not an assistant (no masters), my actual rate- $11/hour. Nooooooooo. Expected, but soooo bummed!

That's not true. Here, all the health unit clerks start at around $10/hr.
Ah! That sucks! I was going through the interview process a few years back and an HR lady told me highest salary range when we were on the phone discussing a job and asked if that was okay with me and I tried to say as casually as I could "Yes that is a good rate" and inside I'm going Holy Mother that's awesome!! Needless to say I didn't get the job, but oh well
