Lube Recommendations please.

Hi =]

Ive lurked on this board a good amount. And would like other options for lubes.

A little background.

Only with my DH have I ever used lubes, and we havent tried many out yet.

My thing is with the lubes we have tried, I can only recall the heating one right now....
I feel like it desensitizes me... I find it VERY hard to get off when we use the lubes.

I am the kind of woman that need clitoral  stimulation in order to climax and with the lubes..its like nothing.  And just the sex in general has a lot less feeling to me when we use the lubes.

Any suggestions of lubes to try?

Thanks in advance!!!

Re: Lube Recommendations please.

  • Rather than suggest one, I would like to suggest that you NOT buy the Durex brand "Tingling" sensation. I'm pretty sure it caught my vag on fire.
  • Liquid silk!!  It is great!
  • Saliva.  Yes, I'm being serious.
  • Just like me... you can get it from slumber parties or pure romance

  • Our favorites are Just Like Me and Pure Pleasure, both from PureRomance.

  • I like KY brand Intrigue, it's expensice, but lasts a long time and has a silky, non-goopy feel.

Anything from PR is amazing. It never feels tacky and Just Like Me is amazing because it never dries out as long as there is a tiny bit of other moisture present.  And a bottle of it lasts FOREVER.

This is what we will be trying next!

    5 Love Its

If you aren't using condoms as a birth control method, try silicon-based lubes... they tend to "stick" better. Water-based lubes tend to evaporate, making you have to re-apply. You just don't want to use silicon-based lubes with condoms because the silicon will break down the latex and you increase the risk of the condom breaking.

I like Slippery Stuff. It's designed for use during anal sex, but you don't have to use it only for such. Because it's designed for anal, though, which by nature requires more lube, it's a higher quality lube overall.

Also, it's not a lube, but Pure Romance puts out a sensitizing cream called X-Scream that's really awesome. If you're really into clitoral stimulation, dab a little on your clitoris when things are getting hot and heavy and it'll give you a little tingle that will just bump things up a notch.

I also have yet to meet anyone who has had a good experience with any of the "heating" lubes... the one time I used one, it burned the crap out of me and gave my boyfriend a rash on his chest and stomach where I wiped the excess off of my hands. I've since avoided them like the plague.

  • H2O water based lube. Silicone based lubes aggravate my vag.

    H2O Sliquid is wonderful.

Silicone based lubes can be condom safe; silicone lubes that are condom safe say so on the bottle. A lot of condoms are packaged with a silicone lube too.

I just didn't want to discount ALL silicone lubes as a no-go with condoms, since my favorite lube is the very latex compatible ID Millenium.

I found water based lubes to range from kind of irritating to downright allergic reation. So, OP, it really will just depend on what works for you. You can buy sample sizes of a lot of different lubes! http://condoms.com/category.php?a=condomscomstore&cid=528&rid=32

I just wanted to second the ID Millennium, especially if you are going to use it for anal (it feels weird writing that right above a pic of my DD). But for vaginal sex, sometimes it feels like I can't get it all off afterwards, so then I prefer ID Wet, which is water based.

But, really, I'd recommend going to a quality adult-type store, and ask someone there. That's how I ended up with the ones I use, the people who work there usually know their stuff.

That did the same thing to me. I also think DH's ding ding was on fire because he was screaming around the apartment in the shower and nothing.

We personally use JO personal lubricant. We used to use WET but JO is a little more slippery and actually has a sweet taste. But it is a little more pricey.

  • You have all been so very helpful! =]

The condoms is not an issue, I am currently pregnant and plan to use an IUD after.

I really appreciate all the input!

  • KY His and Her Pleasure is expensive but it lasts and it's great! Just keep in mind you have to mix them if not you'll feel like you're on fire.

  • Astroglide.  We like it better than KY brands because it provides better lubrication and I don't have reactions to it.

  • We love Play With Me by Victoria's Secret, I don't think it's condom safe, and it smells good, we like it, but I can see how some people might not like one being scented.

We also really like KY Intrigue, pricey, but awesome, especially in the shower.

I love all the recs. too! We've only been married a little over a month so we haven't tried a whole lot, definitely going to look for some of these.

  • My DW and I tried KY liquid silk by accident and like it a lot--on a trip and only decent looking lube sold. She likes it for solo clitoral play-just a tiny bit of that lube does the trick. We have used it for regular intercourse as well-it's great, very smooth and non irritating.

WET brand is also nice though it's more of a gel, might not be what you're looking for.
