My girlfriends and I are coming to Dallas mid-September for a weekend getaway. What are some fun things to do? We definitely want to go out the 2 nights that we will be there, we just can't figure out where. Any suggestions?
Re: Girls weekend in Dallas
There are several "bar" districts in the area. If you are looking for a younger, but not college group, try Addison (where Pete's is from above). There they have Sherlock's (my fave), Duke's, and BlackFinn among other things. Lots of good restaurants, too.
For a more casual atmosphere, there are a ton of bars down Lower Greenville. The bars are your more "hole in the wall" type with a few club type places scattered in. The Beagle and Firehouse used to be my faves. This is the easiest place to bar hop, as you can park and easily walk up and down the entire bar area. There are also some good restaurants a little further up that you can start (like Blue Goose or Gloria's) then drive down to the bar district and park for the night. Be prepared to pay for parking here (cash).
There are a couple other "bar" areas and stand alone clubs. Deep Elum (which I wouldn't suggest for a girls weekend) and Knox area (more upscale if that's what you're looking for).
As for the day time entertainment, what kind of things are you looking for? Shopping?
If you need any more ideas or clarification, let me know! Have fun!
