Fabric question

I was thinking of making curtains for the house and I was trying to find some blackout lining to add to help keep the heat out,but the only blackout lining I could find is just a sound barrier. I found Thermalsuede on the Joanns website...Do you think that would help keep the heat out/keep the house cool or just the sound like the other liners I've found?

Oh and the window I wanted to make curtains for is 100+ inches.

Re: Fabric question

  • My mom used this for her windows and it does help with the heat in the room she uses them in.
  • To be honest, any second layer you use will help block out light and insulate. Some fabrics insulate better than others, but no matter what you use, it will be good. The difference between most drapery fabrics and other fabrics is that they have a coating that helps protect them from rain in case you leave your window open by mistake.
  • it is good
