Cleaning Windows with water deposits (the green way)

I am looking for a green solution to clean the windows on my parents' boat.  The windows have what looks like the hard water stains you get in the shower.

I have tried a vinegar solution with little success and now need to move onto something "tougher."  I was thinking about using vinegar with salt or water with baking soda for something more abrasive but wasn't sure.

Does anyone have a "tried and true" green abrasive formula that may work to clean tough deposits on windows?

Re: Cleaning Windows with water deposits (the green way)

  • Sounds strange, but try using a dry electrostatic cloth swiffer (or similar) refill cloth.  Don't spray anything on it or use water at all.  The dry cloth should help you buff off any streaks or spots.  A dry microfiber cloth would probably work too, so just don't use any liquid cleaner, and not even water.  You could clean the fixtures first with a mild cleaner or water.  But once dry then use a dry cloth to remove the leftover streaks/spots from cleaning.  Hope this helps.
  • Disregard, I was responding to a post near yours and somehow it posted my reply in your thread, strange.  It won't let me delete yet either.
  • A Magic Eraser takes deposits right off.
